A vast amount of books, journals and researches have been conducted to support and
develop child care and development through home-school collaboration. Child care means
promoting children’s learning by improving the quality of early care and education and preparing
them to succeed in school. Children are already learning at birth, and they develop and learn at
a rapid pace in their early years. This provides a critical foundation for lifelong progress, and the
adults who provide for the care and education of children (Transforming the Workforce for
Children Birth Through Age 8: A Unifying Foundation). Belsky and Tresch Owen (1988) concur
that early day care experiences can be positive for children’s cognitive and linguistic development.
Child care and development through home- school collaboration are getting easier to be
develop, to implement, and very essential to the growth and enhancement of child’s performance
and attitude towards community, family and school. Home-school collaboration is an important
step in supporting a child’s positive engagement in the learning and social aspects of school life.
Parents and schools have common goal; to see children develop the skills for life and learning, to
see children succeed, and to see children happy. The goal of enhancing children’s competence,
participation, and positive learning and social behaviors cannot be achieved by teachers alone
and requires active partnership with families (Aisling Mulvihill, 2015). This is how child care and
home and school first requires an understanding and belief that parents and teachers are doing
best they can within the constraint of policy, time, life demands, knowledge, experiences and

personal or work based resources. In developing positive partnerships, families and educators
work together as active and equal partners who share responsibility for the learning successes of
Child care is very important. As a teacher, it is our duties to mold the lives of our children
and have an opportunity to be a part in shaping it. Child care means taking care of them even if
takes time, money and effort in showing and letting them understand that they are much valued.
It also means believing their abilities to be an asset of the community where they belong. Through
proper guidance, we can lead them to be a successful one. Proper child care can leads children
to have more improved and positive attitudes towards school, have greater participation in school
activities, and have improved school attendance and higher academic achievement. Lastly, child

develop between parents and school and it is beneficial to both parties. It is a very important agent
to make home-school collaboration approach work. Each parties are both responsible in shaping
and developing children’s future. Below are the benefits of Home-school collaboration approach
To parents;
To teachers;
These are only few benefits, yet very signicant if we know how to use and apply it in life’s daily
approaches. In addition, home-school partnerships are focused on setting joint goals and
achieved across home and school. Effective partnership with benefits from clear and open
communication, with a focus on shared goals, shared language and shared supports. Ongoing
and responsive in recognition of the ever changing learning and social demands on children as

Conclusion
There were many approaches being used in various schools. As the technology continue
to evolved, education here in our country also has its progress. Different learning strategies or
approaches are widely introduced and used both in private and public schools. This approaches
were being measured depending on how we taught and integrate it to the school where we serve.
Child development are not only enriched and developed to school alone but also with the help
and support of the parents. The positive and effective collaboration of school and parents plays a
vital role in child’s development and enhancement. Therefore child care and development through
home-school collaboration has a strong impact to students’ success in school learning. School
education must be a “learner centered’ environment. Home-school link and collaboration must
takes place not only in words but in action. Sustainable development cannot be taught in isolation-
the whole school community has to be involved. Parents and teachers must be seen by children
to share similar values and attitudes to give a real impact to them. Children’s education does not
finish when they leave school at the end of the day. If we want parents to become real partners
and to develop positive and effective home-school collaboration, then we must be prepared to
spend time and effort in helping them to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to help their
children at home.
