 PRESENTACIÓN
PRESENTATION
La Escuela Mexicana de Arquitectura (EMA) de la
Universidad La Salle, abre sus puertas en el año
de 1964 para contribuir a la formación de los ar-
quitectos del país. Cabe destacar que en aque-
llas fechas, tan solo 15 universidades de todo el
país incluían la licenciatura en arquitectura. Ese
fue un año icónico para la arquitectura de nues-
tro país; Pedro Ramírez Vázquez inauguraba los
museos Nacional de Antropología y el de Arte
Moderno en la Ciudad de México. Se avecinaba
una ola de diseño con la construcción de los edi-
ficios para los Juegos Olímpicos y se daba una
importante recuperación de la arquitectura me-
xicana, a través del movimiento de arquitectos
nacionalistas. No en vano el título de “mexicana”
en el nombre de la ahora Facultad Mexicana de
Arquitectura, Diseño y Comunicación de la Uni-
versidad La Salle.
Durante casi 55 años, esta facultad se ha
esmerado en egresar profesionistas con valores,
formados de manera integral tanto en los aspec-
tos técnicos como en los humanísticos. Es de
hacer resaltar que siempre ha existido una incli-
nación muy marcada por los maestros, dirigida a
las tendencias de vanguardia en su momento,

pasando por todos los movimientos arquitectó-
nicos de finales del siglo XX.
De esta manera, a más de medio siglo de su
fundación, han pasado por nuestras aulas nota-
bles estudiantes de los cuales este libro muestra
tan solo una pequeña parte. Así como maestros
de la talla de Antonio Atollini Lack, Vicente Men-
diola, José Villagrán García, Vladimir Kaspé, Martín
L. Gutiérrez, Francisco Serrano, Susana García Fuer-
tes, José Luis Marín de L'Hottellerie, Ernesto Alva,
Luis Angulo, Héctor Meza, Eduardo Pacheco, Ber-
nardo Calderón, Jesús Goyeneche, Miguel Sán-
chez, Gustavo Slovik, José Muñoz Villers, Sergio
Torres, Antonio Recamier, Javier Sánchez, Raúl Hui-
trón y Consejos Consultivos encabezados por
Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, Augusto H. Álvarez, José
Nava, Mario Shejtnan y José Luis Cortés, entre mu-
chos otros destacados arquitectos.
Sirva la presente obra, para reconocer el tra-
bajo de una pequeña pero no menos elocuente y
valiosa selección de arquitectos destacados, que
han egresado de nuestra universidad con la firme
convicción de hacer crecer la arquitectura mexi-
cana contemporánea y dignificar la profesión a tra-
vés de proyectos relevantes para las ciudades.
The Mexican School of Architecture (Escuela Me-
xicana de Arquitectura, EMA) of the Salle Univer-
sity, opens its doors in the year 1964 to contribute
to the education of the country's architects. It
should be noted that at that time, only 15 univer-
sities around the country included a bachelor’s
degree in architecture. That was an iconic year for
the architecture of our country; Pedro Ramírez
Vázquez inaugurated the National Anthropology
and Modern Art museums in Mexico City. A wave
of design was coming with the construction of
the buildings for the Olympic Games and there
was an important recovery of the Mexican archi-
tecture, through the movement of nationalist ar-
chitects. Not in vain the title of "Mexican" in the
name of the now Mexican School of Architecture,
Design and Communication of the La Salle Uni-
versity.
For almost 55 years, this school has worked
hard to graduate professionals with values, trained
in an integral manner in both technical and huma-
nistic aspects. It is important to highlight that there
has always been a marked inclination from the
professors thereof, directed to the avant-garde
tendencies at the time, going through all the archi-
tectural movements of the late twentieth century.
In this manner, more than half a century after
its foundation, exceptional students have sat in our
remarkable classrooms, of whom this book shows
only a small part. As well as important professors
such as Antonio Atollini Lack, Vicente Mendiola, José
Villagrán García, Vladimir Kaspé, Martín L. Gutiérrez,
Francisco Serrano, Susana García Fuertes, José Luis
Marín de L'Hottellerie, Ernesto Alva, Luis Angulo,
Héctor Meza, Eduardo Pacheco, Bernardo Calderón,
Jesús Goyeneche, Miguel Sánchez, Gustavo Slovik,
José Muñoz Villers, Sergio Torres, Antonio Recamier,
Javier Sánchez, Raúl Huitrón and Advisory Boards

FOREWORD
Fue un 29 de abril  de 1964 cuando mi padre, el ar-
quitecto Martín L. Gutiérrez Martínez  invitando a un
prestigiado equipo de colaboradores y formando un
Consejo Consultivo integrado por grandes arquitec-
tos (José Aguirre Cárdenas, Augusto H. Álvarez, Enri-
que Carral, Ricardo De Robina, Ricardo Estrada, Jorge
González Reyna, Carlos Gosselin M., Pedro Irigoyen,
Vladimir Kaspé, Manuel Martínez Páez y Pedro Ra-
mírez Vázquez) , fundaba como director la Escuela
Mexicana de Arquitectura (EMA) por invitación ex-
presa  de nuestro muy estimado hermano Manuel
Álvarez, quien a su vez era el Rector Fundador de
la Universidad La Salle. Es justo en el nombre, esta-
tutos y premisas de nuestra querida escuela, donde
quedaban plasmados muchos de los objetivos con
los que se formarían a las nuevas generaciones, pero
por sobre todo, el férreo espíritu de servicio y com-
promiso con México.  de quienes exponen en esta edición, se evidencia la
De cierto modo puedo decir que mi hermano
Martín y yo crecimos dentro de las paredes de la
EMA, por lo que guardo muchos recuerdos memo-
rables desde lo que en aquel entonces era la hoy fa-
cultad de arquitectura y que a la vuelta de 15 y 18
años más tarde, se convertiría en nuestra alma mater.
Recuerdo con nostalgia la cercanía de muchos co-
laboradores, maestros y aquellas primeras genera-
ciones. Incluso también con nuestra familia y el
innegable cariño por mi madre, Lupita, (como afec-
tuosamente la llamaban) quien sin duda alguna fue

un extraordinario apoyo para mi padre en todo el
proceso, en el consecuente bien ganado prestigio
que la escuela alcanzó y motivadora también de la
imborrable huella que entre todos ellos, mutua-
mente dejaron en sus vidas.
Celebro la herencia que nuestra escuela y
aquellos grandes maestros fundadores nos dejaron
y de todos aquellos quienes continúan con su labor
de enseñanza, la de sus conocimientos, de su expe-
riencia, de rigor, de método, de disciplina, compro-
miso y pasión (imposible mencionarlos a todos, para
evitar el grave error de omitir a alguno); en tanto el
hecho de que ha trascendido sin cesar, en el que-
hacer de muchos compañeros colegas que  durante
los ya próximos 55 años de su fundación, han puesto
no sólo el nombre de nuestra alma mater muy en
alto, sino con la muestra clara de que en el trabajo
manera en la que fuimos forjados y que hoy, lucha-
mos conjuntamente desde nuestra profesión, para
abonarle al sobresaliente lugar que ocupa la arqui-

objectives with which the new generations
would be trained, but above all, the strong spi-
rit of service and commitment to Mexico were
reflected.
In a way I can say that my brother Martin
and I grew up inside the walls of the EMA, so I
keep many great memories of what was then
the current school of architecture, that 15 and
18 years later, it would become our alma mater.
I remember with nostalgia the close proximity
among many collaborators, teachers and those
first generations, even with our family and the
they affectionately called her) who, undoub-
tedly, had strong influence in the well-earned
fame that the school reached and in the inde-
lible mark that they mutually left in their lives.
Our school and the solid heritage that
those great founding teachers left us and that
of all those who continue with their teaching
work, their knowledge, experience, rigor, met-
hod, discipline, commitment and passion
transcended ceaselessly in the work of so
many colleagues who, up to date, after 55
years from its foundation, have put not only
the name of our alma mater very high, but also
they have provided a clear sign that in the
work of those who appear in this edition, the
way in which we were forged is evident and
that today, we fight together from our profes-
sion, to contribute to the outstanding place
that today the Mexican architecture has be-
yond borders.
I want to warmly congratulate each and
every one of the colleagues and friends with
whom we share space in this commemorative

INTRODUCTION
La Escuela Mexicana de Arquitectura de la Univer-
sidad La Salle (EMA) fue fundada oficialmente el
día 29 de abril de 1964, siendo su promotor y primer
director el arquitecto Martín L. Gutiérrez Martínez,
quien integró de manera visionaria a un grupo de
prestigiados profesionales como maestros, que
guiarían a la primera generación conformada por
77 alumnos, siendo Jorge Suárez el primer egre-
sado que obtuvo el título como arquitecto.
En esta valiosa edición que ostentan en sus
manos, se presenta el trabajo de un selecto grupo
de arquitectos que han sido también parte de este
genuino esfuerzo. Podrán constatar a través de las
ataviadas páginas, el genio desbordado de su que-
hacer día a día, reconociendo en consecuencia el
valor y abolengo de nuestra Alma Mater, la cual ha
sido galardonada y reconocida en ocasiones diver-
sas como una de las más prestigiadas escuelas de
arquitectura del país.
Buena parte de las escuelas de arquitectura,
tienen a la fecha programas de intercambio con uni-
versidades de otros países, dando como resultado

un mayor conocimiento del contexto mundial del
rubro, que a la postre, confiere a los alumnos las he-
rramientas necesarias para que su obra alcance ni-
veles de reconocimiento internacional.
La arquitectura actualmente no tiene fron-
teras, una cantidad importante de proyectos se ge-
neran en regiones que hoy se encuentran en vías
de desarrollo, principalmente en la zona asiática,
donde muchas naciones gozan de una economía
fuerte y sana.
Felicito a México, por la fecunda creación de
instituciones que imparten la carrera de arquitec-
tura, hecho que fomenta la competencia proactiva
en beneficio del usuario, quien requiere de la crea-
ción de espacios de excelencia para desarrollarse
en armonía con el entorno y sus congéneres.
Me congratulo por cada uno de los colegas
participantes en esta distinguida y acertada edi-
ción, porque su legado multidimensional nos per-
mite admirar la calidad, el derroche de talento y la
acuciosa dedicación que han puesto en cada una
de las obras aquí presentadas.
The Mexican School of Architecture (EMA) of the La
Salle University was officially founded on April 29,
1964, being its promoter and first director the archi-

nals such as teachers, that would guide the first ge-
neration made up of 77 students, being Jorge Suárez

In this valuable edition that you are holding in
your hands, the work of a select group of architects
who have also been part of this genuine effort is
presented. You will be able to verify through the at-
tired pages, the overflowed geniality of their day to
day work, recognizing in consequence the value
and ancestry of our Alma Mater, which has been
awarded and recognized in diverse occasions as
one of the most prestigious schools of architecture
in the country.
Many of the schools of architecture, have to
date exchange programs with universities in other
countries, resulting in a greater knowledge of the
global context of the field, which ultimately gives
students the necessary tools for their work to reach
levels of international acknowledgment.
Architecture currently has no borders, a sig-
nificant number of projects are generated in regions
that are currently developing, mainly in the Asian
area, where many nations enjoy a strong and
healthy economy.
I congratulate Mexico for the fruitful creation
of institutions that teach architecture, a fact that en-
courages proactive competition for the benefit of
the users, who requires the creation of spaces of ex-
cellence so that their development can be harmo-
nious with the environment and its congeners.
I congratulate each one of the participating
colleagues in this distinguished and accurate edi-
tion, because their multidimensional legacy allows
us to admire the quality, the outpouring of talent

Inició sus estudios profesionales en 1973. Poste-
riormente estudió la Maestría en Restauración de
Monumentos en la misma institución entre 1977
y 1978. Integró a su carrera la docencia e impartió
cátedra en la Universidad Anáhuac de 1977 a 1986.
Ahí, fue coordinador los últimos tres años y gana-
dor del premio al mejor material didáctico con un
trabajo de investigación sobre el sismo de 1985.
Fundó un despacho de arquitectura y
construcción en 1980 asociándose con sus her-
manos Alberto y Carlos. Pioneros para México y
Latinoamérica en manejo del diseño asistido por
computadora como primeros distribuidores de
Autocad. Ahora Betancourt Arquitectos e Inge-
nieros cumple 35 años, aglutinando distintas em-
presas de diseño arquitectónico y de interiores,
desarrollos inmobiliarios, culminando en años re-
cientes con Klinai, una industria con lo último en
tecnología para fabricación de muebles e imple-
mentos de carpintería. Actualmente participa la
tercera generación en la operación y dirección del
grupo.

He began his professional studies in 1973. Later
he studied the Master’s Degree in Restoration of
Monuments in the same institution between 1977
and 1978. He integrated to his career the teaching
activity and taught at the Anahuac University
from 1977 to 1986. There, he was the coordinator
for the last three years and won the prize for the
best didactic material with a research work on the
1985 earthquake.
He founded a firm of architecture and cons-
truction in 1980, he partnered with his brothers
Alberto and Carlos. Pioneers for Mexico and Latin
America in computer-aided design management
as first Autocad distributors. Now Betancourt Ar-
quitectos e Ingenieros celebrates its 35th anniver-
sary , bringing together different companies of
architectural and interior design, real estate deve-
lopments, culminating in recent years with Klinai,
an industry with the latest technology for manu-
facturing furniture and carpentry tools. Currently, CASA M

 Con cientos de proyectos y construcciones
realizadas, entre premios y reconocimientos, des-
taca en 2014 el premio Fratello por su trayectoria
profesional otorgado por la Facultad de Arquitec-
tura de la Universidad La Salle. Las aportaciones
más importantes de su estilo arquitectónico se
han apreciado en proyectos de gran escala como:
Laboratorios Serva de Intervet, Club Intrawest en
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo y estudios Televisa Hermosillo,
Sonora. En diseño de interiores han construido
22 000 m2 de interiores en tres meses tal es el
caso de Telefónica Movistar en Santa Fe y proyec-
tos obras “llave en mano” como los interiores del
Hotel Mundo Imperial en Acapulco.
Uno de sus más importantes legados es el
libro “Reglamento de Construcciones ilustrado y
comentado para la Ciudad de México”; trabajo
extenso que surgió en coautoría con el Doctor
Luis Arnal para fomentar la seguridad en las cons-
trucciones de nuestra ciudad.
Ha colaborado con otros despachos du-
rante años como Legorreta Arquitectos en pro-
yectos como el conjunto Solana en Dallas,
Museo de arte de Contemporáneo de Monterrey
(MARCO), Televisa Santa Fe, la conversión a
HANGARES museo de San Ildefonso, el Centro Nacional de

With hundreds of projects and constructions
carried out, including prizes and awards, the Fratello
prize stands out in 2014 for his professional career
awarded by the School of Architecture of the La
Salle University. The most important contributions
of his architectural style have been appreciated in
important projects such as: Laboratorios Serva de
Intervet, Club Intrawest in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and
Televisa studios in Hermosillo, Sonora. In interior de-
sign they have built 22 000 m2 of interior projects in
three months, such as Telefónica Movistar in Santa
Fe and turnkey projects such as the interior design
of the Mundo Imperial Hotel in Acapulco.
One of his most important legacies is the
book Regulations of Constructions Illustrated and
Commented for Mexico City; extensive work that
emerged in co-authorship with Luis Arnal to pro-
mote safety in the construction of our city.
He has collaborated with other firms for
years, such as Legorreta Arquitectos in projects in-
cluding Solana in Dallas, Museum of Contemporary
Art (Museo de Arte de Contemporáneo, MARCO)
in Monterrey, Televisa Santa Fe, the conversion to
San Ildefonso Museum, the National Center for Arts
and the Labyrinth in San Luis Potosí. With Fernando
Romero in the Plaza Carso complex and the Sou-
maya Museum.
Member of the Council of the Colegio de Ar-
quitectos (Association of Architects) and the Socie-
dad de Arquitectos de México (Association of
Architects of Mexico), the Council of the School of
Architecture of the La Salle University and of the Ins-
tituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de
Monterrey (ITESM) Valle de México Campus.

Egresado de la Escuela Mexicana de Arquitectura
de la Universidad la Salle, institución donde im-
parte cátedra desde 2008. Obtiene el grado de
maestría en diseño por la universidad Texas A&M
(2002). Destaca su desempeño al trabajar para la
oficina KMD Architects en México y en San Fran-
cisco, California.
En 2007 funda en sociedad el despacho
Buscando la Aurora y en 2014 consolida este pro-
yecto de manera individual con BulAu Arquitectos,
desarrollando su especialización en diseño urbano
y arquitectónico.
“La esencia de su obra es la constante en el
diseño de espacios y ambientes, con la selección
minuciosa de elementos que permitan procesos y
resultados eficaces dentro de sus proyectos”.
La calidad y experiencia en su trayectoria, le
ha permitido el reconocimiento en diversas parti-
cipaciones de concursos internacionales y nacio-
nales, el más sobresaliente, el Concurso Nacional
de Ideas, para el Plan Maestro del conjunto INE,
Tlalpan, donde participa junto con más de 53
firmas mexicanas de renombre.

HÉCTORDE LA PEÑA
Graduated from the Mexican School of Architec-
ture at La Salle University, an institution where he
teaches since 2008. He holds a master's degree
in design from Texas A&M University (2002). He
highlights his performance working for the KMD
Architects office in Mexico and San Francisco, Ca-
lifornia.
In 2007, he cofounded the company Bus-
cando la Aurora and in 2014 he consolidated this
project individually with BulAu Arquitectos, deve-
loping his specialization in urban and architectu-
ral design.
"The essence of his work is the constant in
the design of spaces and environments, with the
meticulous selection of elements that allow effi-
cient processes and results within his projects".
The quality and experience in his career, has
allowed him acknowledgment in various participa-
tions of international and national competitions,

 Obtiene el Primer Lugar con un proyecto
que destaca en el mejoramiento y la moderniza-
ción de la infraestructura del complejo de manera
eficiente, con amplia visión estética, desarrollando
el espacio público como elemento ordenador del
programa arquitectónico integrándose con la ciu-
dad, y sin dejar de lado la accesibilidad universal.
Por otro lado, obtuvo la Mención Honorífica en el
concurso Pabellón de México para la EXPO Milán
en 2015, donde desarrolla una amplia experimen-
tación de texturas que dan como resultado un pro-
yecto de amplia sensibilidad para el usuario.
Los proyectos que ha desarrollado, siempre
han aportado profesionalismo y determinación en
la visión de su firma, enfrentándose a retos nuevos
que surgen a partir del crecimiento y transforma-
ción de la ciudad, pero siempre buscando la mejor
solución. La intención en cada uno de sus diseños
se enfoca en la máxima calidad y adecuación del
objeto al contexto, potencializándolo sin importar
las particularidades ambientales a las que se en-
frenta, desde un módulo de convivencia en More-

Egresado de la generación 1978-1983, obtiene el tí-
tulo con la tesis Centro de Comunicación Social
para la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de
México (UAEMex). Estudiando aún la carrera, cola-
bora en varios despachos de arquitectura y empre-
sas constructoras, destacando su intervención en
el desarrollo del proyecto para la sede de las ofici-
nas para la Federación Mexicana de Futbol, así
como proyectos de condominios habitacionales
en la Ciudad de México.
Miembro del Colegio de Arquitectos del Es-
tado de México y colaborador en Consejos Direc-
tivos de varias administraciones del mismo
Colegio. Participa en dos Bienales de Arquitectura
del CAEM obteniendo premios por proyectos de
casas habitación en condominio, casa habitación
particular y por remodelación de la Capilla del Se-
minario Menor en Toluca. Participa en la VII Bienal
de Arquitectura Mexicana 2002. En el 2011 obtiene
su certificado de registro ante la APEC ( Asia Pacific
Economic Cooperation).
A partir de 1991 conjuntamente con la arqui-
tecta Esperanza Reyes, forma la empresa Forvil.
Desarrollan proyectos con la dirección arquitectó-
nica y construcción de los mismos, así como el di-
seño de interiores en algunos de ellos.

Graduated from the 1978-1983 generation, he obtai-
ned the title with the Dissertation named Social
Communication Center for the Autonomous Uni-
versity of the State of Mexico (UAEMex). Still
studying the career, he collaborates in several archi-
tectural firms and construction companies, highligh-
ting his intervention in the development of the
project for the headquarters of the offices for the
Mexican Football Federation, as well as housing de-
velopment projects in Mexico City.
Member of the Association of Architects of
the State of Mexico (Colegio de Arquitectos del Es-
tado de Mexico, CAEM) and collaborator in Boards
of Directors of several administrations of the same
Association. He participates in two CAEM Biennials
of Architecture obtaining prizes for projects of Con-
dominium Housing Projects, Private Housing Pro-
jects, and for Remodeling the Chapel of the Minor
Seminary in Toluca. He participates in the VII Biennial
of Mexican Architecture 2002. In 2011 he obtains his

 Su obra se caracteriza por el aprovecha-
miento de las condicionantes del entorno, el fun-
cionamiento óptimo para el usuario con el manejo
de espacios útiles, prácticos y agradables con una
combinación de materiales tradicionales y moder-
nos así como el uso de tecnologías sustentables,
abonando con ello a la entera satisfacción de sus
clientes.
La firma cuenta con decenas de proyectos
de casas habitación particulares en distintas zonas
residenciales, proyectos de condominios habitacio-
nales y conjuntos urbanos. En cuanto a proyectos
comerciales, ha realizado clínicas y hospitales parti-
culares, edificios de oficinas, restaurantes, café-li-
brerías, funerarias, hoteles y plazas comerciales.
Asimismo, ha diseñado la remodelación para áreas
del seminario Conciliar de Toluca y, para la UAEMex,
el proyecto ejecutivo para el cuarto torreón del edi-
ficio de Rectoría y el del Teatro Isabelino de la Casa
de las Diligencias, así como también diversos tra-
bajos de restauración en el edificio de la rectoría, la
remodelación de la sala de consejo, de la sala de
rectores y de las oficinas del rector.
Recientemente están desarrollando un pro-
yecto de condominio de playa en Akumal, Quin-
tana Roo, un Hotel-Boutique en la Ciudad de
Toluca y un hotel de 76 habitaciones en el Valle de
México.

for the fourth tower of the rectorate building and
the Elizabethan Theater of the Casa de las Dili-
gencias, as well as various restoration works in
the rectorate building, the remodeling of the
board room, the rectors’ room and the rector's
offices.
Recently they are developing a beach con-
dominium project in Akumal, Quintana Roo, a
Hotel-Boutique in the City of Toluca and a 76-

 Con respecto a los proyectos presentados, en su con-
ceptualización todos tienen en común el manejo de grandes
ventanales, que logran la total integración con el exterior y por
ende el manejo de mucha luz. El uso del color blanco y la con-
tinuidad de material en pisos, como integradores en la mayoría
de los espacios. En las casas del Pedregal cabe destacar el pro-
tagonismo de los jardines, por lo que en dichos proyectos se
priorizó la relación de estos con los espacios interiores. Tanto en
la casa C+G como en Condominio Risco, los proyectos se adap-
taron totalmente a la topografía descendente en el primer caso
y ascendente en el segundo. En el edificio de Arquímedes a tra-
vés de una fachada completamente acristalada integrando te-
rrazas, se logra una gran vista hacia la zona de Polanco.

Egresado de la generación 1974-1979, con la tesis
“Biblioteca Nacional de México” donde escribe su
frase de inspiración: “Cada línea, cada trazo,
nacen en la mente y viven en la historia”.
Desde 1979, funda la firma Helfon Arquitec-
tos, con cerca de 900 000 m2 en más de 120 pro-
yectos de diversas tipologías tales como: casas
habitación, edificios para vivienda, edificios para
oficinas corporativas, centros comerciales, naves
industriales, colegios, un templo, diseño de inte-
riores y mobiliario.
Ha participado en concursos nacionales e
internacionales como el realizado para el Museo
Nacional de Corea, en donde obtuvo “mención
especial” entre más de 600 participantes. El pri-
mer lugar con motivo de la celebración del 45°
aniversario de la Escuela Mexicana de Arquitec-
tura, por el diseño arquitectónico y fotografía de
proyectos realizados por arquitectos egresados.
Ha expuesto en varias conferencias su tra-
yectoria y obra, mismas que se han publicado en
diversos libros y revistas de arquitectura.
Hace 20 años, se integra a la firma el arqui-

Arquitectos, forman parte de ese pensamiento en
donde las líneas y trazos concebidos en la mente
del arquitecto Salomón Helfon, forman parte de la
historia y del paisaje dentro del contexto urbano
de la Ciudad de México.
Residencial Rubén Darío
El predio de 503.35 m2, se encuentra en Po-
lanco frente al Bosque de Chapultepec, a espaldas
del Museo de Antropología. Cuenta con 10 depar-
tamentos (uno por piso) y una altura total de 36 m.
La planta arquitectónica es ortogonal con el
núcleo de circulaciones al centro, lo que permite al
máximo las visuales hacia el exterior.
En la planta de acceso se localiza el vestí-
bulo, caseta de vigilancia, intendencia y un salón
de usos múltiples. Cuenta con Roof-Garden con
chimenea, un jacuzzi al aire libre y gimnasio en el
último piso.
Corporativo Kansas
Se desplanta en un predio de geometría
irregular con tres frentes a la vía pública, integrando
de esta forma las fachadas del edificio a su entorno
transformando la imagen urbana de la Avenida de
los Insurgentes.
Cuenta con una superficie rentable de
23 000 m para espacios de oficinas Corporativas

y área para estacionamientos con una capacidad
para alojar más de 850 vehículos.
Algunos de los pisos para oficinas cuentan
con terrazas, aprovechando este elemento arqui-
tectónico como parte de la volumetría en sus
fachadas.

Rubén Darío Residential Development
The 503.35 m2 property is located in Po-
lanco in front of Bosque de Chapultepec, behind
the Anthropology Museum. It has 10 apartments
(one per floor) and a total height of 36 m.
The architectural plan is orthogonal with
the nucleus of movement in the center, which
allows the maximum view to the exterior.
On the access floor there is the lobby,
guard booth, cleaning room and a multipurpose
room. It has a roof garden with a fireplace, an out-

Kansas Corporate
It moves in an irregular geometry with
three fronts to the public road, integrating in this
manner the facades of the building to its surroun-
dings transforming the urban image of the Insur-
gentes Avenue.
It has a rentable area of 23 000 m2 for

en 1994. Realizó estudios de Maestría en Urba-
nismo en la UNAM y participó en intercambios
académicos con la Universidad de Arizona, en Es-
tados Unidos, y las Universidades de Calgary Wa-
terloo, en Canadá. Estudió el programa en Alta
Dirección en el IPADE, el Curso de Liderazgo
Lasallista impartido por la IALU en Roma y el
International Dean’s Course Latinoamérica, en la
Universidad de Alicante y de Saarland en Ale-
mania.
Trabajó para Sánchez Arquitectos y fue Jefe
de Taller en GICSA.
Ha sido profesor del ITESM y de la Univer-
sidad La Salle y ha organizado viajes de estudios
para arquitectos a distintas partes del mundo.
Fue presidente fundador de la Asociación
Mexicana de Arquitectos Lasallistas, Vicepresi-
dente Regional Metropolitano de la ASINEA, Vi-
cepresidente del CAM SAM y Vicepresidente de
Arquitectura del IMEI.
Ha recibido varios premios entre los que
destacan la Medalla de Plata en la V Bienal de Ar-
quitectura Mexicana, Premio Nacional Cemex
2005, Joven Talento de la Revista Hábitat y Men-

Homero Hernández graduated from the university
in 1994. He completed a Master's Degree in Urba-
nism at the National Autonomous University of Me-
xico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México,

and the Universities of Calgary, Waterloo, in Canada.
He studied the program in Senior Management at
IPADE, the Lasallian Leadership Course taught by
the IALU in Rome and the International Dean's

He worked for Sánchez Arquitectos and was
Head of Workshop at GICSA.

Paula Flores Gamio se tituló en 2005. Tra-
bajó en ICA Ingeniería participando en diversos
tipos de proyectos como en la Ciudad de la Con-
fección municipio de Emiliano Zapata, Morelos y
en el desarrollo de la Línea B del metro del enton-
ces Distrito Federal.
Laboró tres años para la constructora Bu-
fete Industrial colaborando en el proyecto de una
Petroquímica en Arabia Saudita y haciendo su
desarrollo en las oficinas de Parsons Engineering
& Construction en Pasadena, California.
A partir del año 2000 se incorporó a RAC
Arquitectos en la Ciudad de México, donde de-
sarrolló proyectos residenciales de alto nivel en el
fraccionamiento “La Toscana” así como La casa
Club del mismo conjunto.

of Architecture, Design and Communication of the
ULSA and Director of the SCAP® architecture firm,
where he has performed more than 80 buildings of
industrial, commercial, corporate, educational and
housing types, among which the most outstanding
is the project of the Great Papal Altar for the fourth
visit of His Holiness John Paul II to Mexico, the GG
house, Legaria condominium development with
265 apartments, 16 BSL2 laboratories for the Ministry
of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fishe-

Paula Flores Gamio graduated in 2005. She

Se gestó en el año 2000 desde un salón de clases
en la Universidad La Salle, nació en el 2007 y em-
pezó a caminar como un colectivo hasta que en el
2010 se definió más que como una oficina; como
una plataforma de diseño e investigación en torno
al espacio construido y las prácticas espaciales en
el contexto de la Ciudad de México.
Integrado por Sindy J. Martínez Lortia (1976),
con estudios de Maestría en Ciencias con especia-
lidad en Arquitectura por la Escuela Superior de In-
geniería y Arquitectura del Instituto Politécnico
Nacional y Erik Alfonso Carranza López (1975), con
estudios de Maestría en Centro de Diseño, Cine y
Televisión.
¿Qué es arquitectura? y ¿Qué es ciudad?
Quizás nuestro trabajo empieza con tratar de
responder en diferentes condiciones de tiempo, re-
cursos y espacio estas dos preguntas, y ante la infi-
nidad de respuestas podemos definir nuestro
ejercicio dentro de todas sus variables: muro y calle,
vertical y horizontal, masculino y femenino, la pri-
mera como el elemento primordial de la arquitec-
tura el segundo como el elemento primordial de la
ciudad, lo privado y lo público, el afuera y el adentro,
lo negativo y lo positivo.

 Dos personas que están en constante cues-
tionamiento de lo que hacen y para no perderse en
una discusión comparten el trabajo con un usuario,
con un colaborador, con un maestro de obras, con
un estudiante, con un habitante de lo público; eso,
nuestro trabajo se resume en la construcción espa-
cial de relaciones sociales, afectivas, económicas y
políticas, agregando una narrativa lúdica. Lo que su-
cede en medio de todas estas posibles respuestas
compartidas es lo que hace que nuestro trabajo se
entienda como un libro para colorear en donde no-
sotros solo desarrollamos el 50% del fondo, de la
forma o de la figura y el otro 50% lo define el usua-
rio.
Esto más que una muestra de nuestros lo-
gros o una cartera de proyectos, es un breve resu-
men de 10 años de trabajo que ha transcurrido en
entender el diseño en sus diferentes escalas. Un
documento; un manual; un objeto; una silla; una
superficie; una mesa; un mueble; un librero; una
estructura; una apropiación; una arquitectura; una
casa; hasta el entendimiento de la ciudad: un es-
pacio público insertado en el contexto en el que
afortunadamente nos tocó trabajar. ¡Bienvenidos!
Two people who are constantly questio-
ning what they do and in order not to get lost in
a discussion, they share the work with a user, with
a collaborator, with a master builder, with a stu-
dent, with an inhabitant of what is public; that,
our work, is summarized in the spatial construc-
tion of social, affective, economic and political re-
lations, adding a playful narrative. What happens
in the midst of all these possible shared respon-
ses is what makes that our work is understood as
a coloring book where we only develop 50% of
the background, form or figure and the other 50%
is defined by the user.
This is more than a sample of our achieve-
ments or a portfolio of projects, it is a brief sum-
mary of 10 years of work that have elapsed in
understanding the design in its different scales.
A document; a manual; an object; a chair; a sur-
face; a table; a piece of furniture; a bookcase; a

Desde su fundación en 1982, la firma PR Arquitec-
tos, conformada por Eduardo y Jorge Pacheco de
la Rosa, se ha propuesto como reto fundamental,
hacer frente al desafío estético para crear ambien-
tes atractivos a través de un lenguaje arquitectó-
nico inspirado en la contemporaneidad, donde la
innovación tecnológica y el aprovechamiento de
los recursos naturales, sean elementos integrado-
res de un diseño con impacto arquitectónico de
vanguardia.
Eduardo Pacheco es egresado de la Escuela
Mexicana de Arquitectura de la universidad La Salle
en 1976. Fue reconocido por El Diario de México, el
CONACYT y la propia Universidad La Salle, como
el mejor estudiante de su generación. Ha combi-
nado la práctica profesional con la docencia por
más de 45 años. En 1997 egresa de la maestría en
Educación, área Docencia Universitaria de la Uni-
versidad La Salle (ULSA), obteniendo la distinción
Magna Cum Laude. Asimismo, Jorge Pacheco
egresa en 1980 de la Universidad Autónoma
Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco, obteniendo el
reconocimiento como mejor estudiante de su
generación.

Since its foundation in 1982, the PR Arquitectos firm,
formed by Eduardo and Jorge Pacheco de la Rosa,
has proposed as a fundamental challenge, to face
the aesthetic challenge to create attractive environ-
ments through an architectural language inspired
by contemporaneity, where the technological inno-
vation and the use of natural resources, are integra-
ting elements of a design with cutting edge
architectural impact.
Eduardo Pacheco graduated from the Me-
xican School of Architecture at La Salle University
in 1976. He was acknowledged by El Diario de
México, CONACYT and La Salle University as the
best student of his generation. He has combined
professional practice with teaching for more than

 Ambos realizan estudios de Arquitectura Bi-
bliotecaria en el Reino Unido, auspiciados por el
Consejo Británico. Posteriormente la UAM Azca-
potzalco, envía al arquitecto Eduardo Pacheco a
Italia para realizar una investigación relacionada con
la Arquitectura de Interiores.
Desde su inicio, en el trabajo del taller de di-
seño, así como durante el desarrollo de la obra,
ambos arquitectos han hecho propias las enseñan-
zas de dos de sus grandes maestros; Vladimir
Kaspé y Francisco Serrano C. El profesionalismo
con el que se debe enfrentar y realizar un proyecto
y la búsqueda incansable de la excelencia espacial
en el diseño, a través del estudio riguroso de las
partes que integran el proyecto.
Bajo estas premisas, la firma PR Arquitectos
ha incursionado en la realización de proyectos ha-
bitacionales, educativos, culturales, religiosos, in-
dustriales, oficinas corporativas, comerciales, para
la salud, para la industria restaurantera, entre otros,
habiendo publicado diversos proyectos arquitec-
tónicos en revistas y libros especializados de circu-
lación nacional e internacional.
Eduardo Pacheco es autor de dos libros di-
rigidos a estudiantes de arquitectura y de diseño
en general, así como a toda persona interesada en
el tema; “Perspectiva, Comunicación y Arquitec-
tura” (en colaboración con el arquitecto Carlos Mo-
reno Tamayo) y “El Croquis en Arquitectura”.

Kingdom, sponsored by the British Council. Later
the UAM Azcapotzalco, sends the architect Eduardo
Pacheco to Italy to carry out an investigation related
to Interior Architecture.
From the beginning, in the design workshop
work, as well as during the development of the
work, both architects have made their own the tea-
chings of two of their great teachers: Vladimir Kaspé
and Francisco Serrano C. The professionalism with
which one must face and perform a project and the
tireless search for spatial excellence in design,
through the rigorous study of the parts that make
up the project.
Under these premises, the PR Arquitectos
firm has ventured into the performance of housing,

young architects who began their professional
work when architecture was torn between criti-
cism to the modern movement and postmoder-
nity, in which rules were broken and awareness
of identity and the search for a language of their

Graduated at the beginning of the nine-
ties, with a production of more than 45 works
built from 1996 by Sergio Reinoso, who later joi-

 En este proyecto industrial el enfoque fue
diferente, se plantearon distintos volúmenes en
base a las actividades que se realizan interiormente
y de esta manera se enfatizaron diversos elemen-
tos haciendo evidente el sistema constructivo, los
materiales y su aplicación. Con este planteamiento,
logramos darle a cada elemento y a cada actividad
ese diferenciador y carácter único dentro del pro-
yecto el cual se desprendió del programa arquitec-
tónico y de sus características.
Cuatro volúmenes lo conforman, donde el
juego entre espacios cerrados y abiertos, texturas
y colores le confieren una fuerte sinergia espacial.
Departamento Aurus
A través de los años, la forma de vivir se ha
transformado influenciada por tendencias, hábitos
y aspectos que conllevan a un estilo propio. Este
proyecto aborda un departamento desarrollado en
dos niveles donde se plantea un concepto de
doble altura, donde los espacios se integran y en-
tablan una relación íntima.
En tonos blancos y marfiles se desarrolló la
propuesta, contrastando con los elementos de
madera y el mobiliario, jugando con ese lenguaje
neutral que nos permite resaltar los elementos im-
portantes.
Un espacio de doble altura es revestido por
una envolvente de madera creando un ambiente
irrepetible, donde se genera un marco perimetral
que realza el color del cielo y los árboles, integrando
el espacio interior con el exterior de la terraza, man-
teniendo siempre un ambiente único y con un
mesurado equilibrio en los estados de ánimo y las
sensaciones.

In this industrial project, the approach was
different, different volumes were proposed based
on the activities carried out internally and, in this
manner, different elements were emphasized
making evident the constructive system, the ma-
terials and their application. With this approach,
we managed to give each element and each ac-
tivity that differentiator and unique character wit-
hin the project which was detached from the
architectural program and its characteristics.
It is made up of four volumes, where pla-
ying with closed and open spaces, textures and
colors gives it a strong spatial synergy.
Aurus Department
Over the years, the way of living has been
transformed by trends, habits and aspects that
lead to a style of its own. This project addresses a
department developed on two levels where a
double height concept is proposed, where the
spaces are integrated and establish an intimate
relationship.
The proposal was developed in white and
ivory shades, contrasting with the elements of
wood and furniture, playing with that neutral lan-
guage that allows us to highlight the important
elements.
A double height space is covered by a
wooden envelope creating an unrepeatable en-
vironment, where a perimeter frame that enhan-
ces the color of the sky and the trees is created,
integrating the interior space with the outside of
the terrace, always maintaining a unique atmos-
phere and with a measured balance in moods
and sensations.

presa Inmobiliaria, proyectando y supervisando
distintas obras residenciales.
En 1999 funda su propia empresa construc-
tora y taller de proyectos en la Ciudad de León,
Guanajuato, mientras inicia la maestría en valuación.
Comienza a desarrollar proyectos de edifi-
cios corporativos y residencias en diversos campos
de golf.
En el 2004 construye dos residencias que
posteriormente son publicadas en ATK monográfico.
En el año 2007 visita Nueva York con un
grupo conformado por la Universidad La Salle,

 En el año 2009 diseña un importante corpo-
rativo zapatero en la ciudad leonesa.
Como admirador del arquitecto-ingeniero
Santiago Calatrava Valls, comienza una etapa en
donde se apasiona por el acero, dada su extraordi-
naria capacidad para generar majestuosas estruc-
turas y librar grandes claros, hecho que le
proporciona la posibilidad casi mágica de hacer
que las casas floten en el espacio, prescindiendo
de excesivos muros y columnas.
A raíz de ello, realiza estudios sobre las en-
trañas del acero y sus posibilidades a gran escala.
”Una residencia debe de ser atrevida y glamorosa”
En 2012 lleva a cabo el proyecto de la casa
EL en donde el acero es determinante para poder
salvar considerables volados.
“Siempre los terrenos te dan el diseño, no
puedes forzar un proyecto que no se adapte a su
entorno”.
Entre 2014 y 2016 realiza varias residencias
para empresarios de la región, en las que su visión
espacial, ha dado lugar a que sus propuestas plás-
ticas sean atractivas y sumamente cotizadas.
Su vocación empresarial lo ha llevado por el
camino de la industria. En el año 2017 y 2018 diseña
distintas obras de carácter industrial, como parques

In 2009 he designs an important shoemaking
corporate in the city of León.
As an admirer of the architect-engineer San-
tiago Calatrava Valls, he begins a stage where he is
passionate about steel, given its extraordinary capa-
city to generate majestic structures and large clea-
rings, a fact that provides the almost magical
possibility of making houses float in the space,
without an excessive number of walls and columns.
As a result, he studies the depths of steel and
its possibilities on a large scale. “A residence must be
bold and glamorous”.
In 2012 he carries out the project of the EL
house, where steel is a determining factor in order
to save considerable overhangs.
“The land always gives you the design, you
cannot force a project that does not adapt to its en-
vironment”.
Between 2014 and 2016 he makes several re-
sidences for entrepreneurs in the region, in which
his spatial vision has led to make that his plastic pro-

La firma Usoarquitectura es un estudio dirigido por
Gabriel Salazar y Fernando Castañón, quienes apo-
yados en un sólido equipo de trabajo transforman los
espacios y desarrollan proyectos donde se disfruta
ser y estar. USO es una firma especializada en inte-
riorismo corporativo y comercial, así como en proyec-
tos arquitectónicos. Con 13 años de experiencia, han

En 1989 participa en el Encuentro Nacional
de Estudiantes de Arquitectura ASINEA realizado

1990, representa a la Escuela Mexicana de Arqui-

donde obtiene Mención Honorífica.
En 1991 se integra al despacho de Gosselin

de Antropología del INAH. Gana el concurso para
la remodelación integral de la Torre Ejecutiva de

He is a graduate of the 1985-1990 generation. He
starts his professional work participating in important
firms in Mexico City.
In 1989, he participated in the National Mee-
ting of Students of Architecture held in Monterrey,
Nuevo Leon and later in 1990, he represented the Me-
xican School of Architecture in the Pani Prize, held at
the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Uni-
versidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM)
where he received Honorary Mention.
In 1991, he joined the firm of Gosselin Arquitec-
tos and worked as an associate architect developing
large-scale projects in urban design and housing na-
tionally and internationally.
In 1997, he participated in a Master's Degree in
Urban Development from the Universidad Iberoa-
mericana. In 1999, he founded Sae+e Arquitectos,
committed to a contemporary vision and a deep de-
sire to define the generation of architectural propo-
sals linked to conceptual values in the creative
process. He developed projects such as the Directo-
rate of Historical Studies and the National Anthropo-

porativas como García Alcocer Abogados, ALM&C
Abogados y vivienda residencial como el Desarrollo
Misión Catalá entre 2008 y 2012, donde marca en
forma particular la reinterpretación de un conjunto
desarrollado originalmente por los arquitectos José
de Iturbe y Lucio Muniain, integrando nuevos con-
ceptos urbanos y arquitectónicos.
En 2012 lleva a cabo proyectos de vivienda
residencial en México y España logrando acercarse
más al diseño volumétrico y al espacio interior,
siendo ejemplos la Casa SG y la Casa SS en San-
tander, España.
En 2012 inicia una relación profesional con
Elix Desarrollo y cofunda Elix Arquitectura. El nuevo
Taller conforma una visión integral de proyectos
enfocados en la calidad arquitectónica, a la viabili-
dad y sustentabilidad económica.
En 2014 efectúa proyectos como el nuevo
corporativo USUMA, en Villahermosa, Tabasco, un

En 2015 la firma realiza el Conjunto Intra
Nogal, logrando en el 2016 Mención Honorífica en
la Bienal Nacional de Arquitectura de la
Ciudad de México, integrando conceptos arquitec-
tónicos valiosos a la vivienda urbana y revalorando
la tradicional vida de barrio en la primera colonia
fundada en la Ciudad de México. También diseña
Intra Alameda, siendo un conjunto destacado
frente al tradicional parque de la Alameda en Santa
María la Ribera.
En 2017 el grupo se transforma fundando
Vira Taller, con nuevos proyectos de usos mixtos
como la nueva Sede del Club de Empresarios en
Puebla, Torre Constituyentes y Torre Eje Central,
entre otros.

 En 1990 entra a Fondo Opción y dirigió el área de
Arquitectura durante tres años junto al ingeniero
Antonio Gutiérrez Cortina, quien lo impulsó en el
año de 1992 a ser socio fundador de KMD México

In 1990, he joined Fondo Opción and directed the

en México en 2013. Desde su incorporación al
despacho como Director General en 2014, el ar-
quitecto Luis Ángel Uribe Alfonso la ha llevado a
participar en múltiples proyectos de tipo comer-
cial (retail).
Egresado de la generación 1989-1994. Ob-
tuvo su Maestría en Proyectos para el Desarrollo
Urbano con especialidad en Diseño Urbano por la
Universidad Iberoamericana. Trabajó en KMD Mé-
xico en proyectos relevantes tanto en México
como en Estados Unidos. Fue subdirector de pro-
yectos en GICSA en la rama de Centros Comercia-
les, diseñando y desarrollando proyectos como La

CEO in 2014, the architect Luis Ángel Uribe Alfonso

 Proyectos diseñados desde su concepción,
como el Portal Pedregal Britania, ubicado al sur de
la Ciudad de México, donde se aprovechan las res-
tricciones ambientales del terreno, tales como la
conservación de árboles existentes y la recupera-
ción del Río Santa Teresa. El proyecto radica en
mantener las circulaciones en fachada para obte-
ner la integración de los exteriores hacia el interior
y viceversa, logrando dar una imagen mucho más
abierta que la de un centro comercial de carácter
tradicional.
Se ha involucrado en proyectos de remode-
lación de centros comerciales, como el Centro Co-
mercial Sancancio, ubicado en el departamento de
Caldas en Colombia, donde se aprovecha la es-
tructura existente para integrar nuevos espacios
necesarios incluidos en el programa arquitectónico;
creando al exterior un acceso icónico, dándole un
sentido emblemático y a la vez amigable al usuario.
Al interior son creadas circulaciones continuas que
promueven el fácil acceso, dando una claridad y
amplitud, conectando visualmente los diferentes
espacios y entrepisos del proyecto, otorgando ge-

Projects designed since their conception,
such as Portal Pedregal Britania, located south of
Mexico City, where the environmental restrictions of
the land are taken advantage of, such as the con-
servation of existing trees and the recovery of the
Santa Teresa River. The project is to maintain the
movements on the facade to obtain the integration
of the exteriors towards the interior and vice versa,
achieving a much more open image than that of a
traditional shopping center.
He has been involved in remodeling projects
for shopping centers, such as the Sancancio Shop-
ping Center, located in the department of Caldas in
Colombia, where the existing structure is used to in-
tegrate new necessary spaces included in the archi-
tectural program; creating an iconic access to the
outside, giving it an emblematic and at the same
time user-friendly sense. Inside continuous move-
ments that promote easy access are created, giving
clarity and breadth, visually connecting the different
spaces and mezzanines of the project, providing ge-
nerous areas of recreation and relaxation. Thus, the
shopping center becomes an experiential habitat
giving an unprecedented and particular sense to
the shopping experience.

Realizó sus estudios en la Escuela Mexicana de Ar-
quitectura de 1973 a 1979. Trabajó como desarrolla-
dor de proyectos para Ricardo Legorreta y Pedro
Ramírez Vázquez, lo que influyó de manera deter-
minante en la arquitectura que llevaría a cabo en
los siguientes años. En 1986 fundó la firma Zozaya
Arquitectos.
Ha desarrollado la mayor parte de su expe-
riencia en la costa del Pacífico mexicano, donde ha
logrado integrarse en su cultura, asimilar las cos-
tumbres, el estilo de vida y los gustos de sus habi-
tantes, especialmente en Zihuatanejo. Su contacto
con la vida de los trópicos en la costa de Guerrero,
le ha permitido crear su propio estilo que, más que
en los principios formales, se basa en los detalles
que surgen de la observación diaria, como el clima,
el paisaje natural y los mejores puntos. La observa-
ción, la dirección del viento, la brisa, la luz y el color
le ayudan a crear espacios que armonizan con el
entorno y proporcionan algo único a sus clientes.

He studied at the Mexican School of Architecture
from 1973 to 1979. He worked as a project developer
for Ricardo Legorreta and Pedro Ramírez Vázquez,

 Así nace el “Estilo Zihuatanejo” con el
concepto de crear viviendas con acento único e
innovador en su arquitectura, siempre priorizando
la sustentabilidad con el menor impacto posible
en el sitio. Incluye elementos arquitectónicos que
se han formado a su alrededor, las ventajas de in-
tegrar los espacios al paisaje y el clima estable del
lugar, haciendo de Zihuatanejo un puerto reco-
nocido como destino de clase mundial por su
identidad y atmósfera únicas.
En 2015 se une al despacho el arquitecto
Daniel Zozaya, egresado de la Universidad Ibe-
roamericana (2010–2015). Desde su llegada, Daniel
ha logrado darle otra visión a ciertas áreas como
a la implementación de nuevas tecnologías, ma-
teriales, diseño digital y la aportación de sangre
renovada al diseño arquitectónico.
A medida que creció y vivió los espacios
creados por su padre, ha estado presente de
manera fiel en la evolución del estilo de la firma; ha
sabido observar, aprender e innovar. Creando un
equilibrio entre lo tradicional y lo contemporáneo.
Su diseño se basa en la simplicidad y fun-
cionalidad de los espacios y materiales. Apasio-
nado por el hormigón aparente, la madera, el
acero y la piedra. Su papel como arquitecto día a
día no sólo ha sido punta de lanza en la innova-
ción, sino que gracias a su juventud, el ser soste-
nible es prioridad por naturaleza.

This is how the "Zihuatanejo Style" was born
with the concept of creating houses with a unique
and innovative accent in their architecture, always
prioritizing sustainability with the least possible im-
pact on the site. It includes architectural elements
that have formed around it, the advantages of inte-
grating the spaces to the landscape and the stable
climate of the place, making Zihuatanejo a recogni-
zed port as a world-class destination for its unique
identity and atmosphere.
In 2015 the architect Daniel Zozaya joined the
firm, he graduated from the Ibero-American Univer-
sity (Universidad Iberoamericana) (2010-2015). Since
his arrival, Daniel has managed to give another vi-
sion to certain areas, such as the implementation of
new technologies, materials, digital design and the
contribution of of a new perspective to architectural
design.
As he grew and lived the spaces created by
his father, he has been faithfully present in the
evolution of the firm’s style; he has known how to
observe, learn and innovate. Creating a balance
between the traditional and the contemporary.
His design is based on the simplicity and CASA TULUM

undada en 1964, la Facultad Mexicana de
Arquitectura, Diseño y Comunicación
mantiene su prestigio y reputación, distin-

Founded in 1964, the Mexican School of Architec-
ture, Design and Communication (Facultad Mexi-
cana de Arquitectura, Diseño y Comunicación,
FAMADyC) maintains its prestige and reputation, it
stands out for its strategic, creative and innovative
vision. It has five Bachelor Degrees, two of them re-
cently created, three Specialties and three Master’s
Degrees. Each of these programs promotes the po-
tential of the students, in order to generate innova-
tive solutions that transform Mexico and the world
