List of 5 Major Activities for the 30th NSM: The celebration of the 30th National Statistics Month (NSM) with the theme, “Data Innovation: Key to a Better Nation,” was collectively observed in the Cagayan Valley Region through the conduct of 119 regionwide/interagency activities jointly carried-out by the members of the RSC2 and the Regional Statistical System (RSS),with the Secretariat services from the SOCD technical staff. A total of 119 activities conducted as reported by participating agencies, highlighted the importance of innovating statistical systems, processes and technologies in coming up with quality statistics that will help policymakers design responsive and evidence-based plans and programs towards a better nation. PSA RSSO II underwent First QMS Surveillance Audit PSA RSSO II underwent its first International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Quality Management System (QMS) on-site surveillance audit with TUV Rheinland Philippines Inc. on November 25, 2019 at PSA RSSSO II, City Hall Annex Building, Carig Sur Tuguegarao City. Auditor Kharen Tan-Concepcion, representative of TUV Rheinland Philippines Inc., reviewed the conformity of the process flows of the agency, to ensure maintenance of the agency’s 3-year ISO certificate and a possible certification extension if it meets the QMS requirements. As a prelude to the said surveillance audit, PSA RSSO II already underwent an Internal Audit with SSS Niño E. Tuazon and SS II Danites E. Teñido as the assigned Internal Quality Auditors which was done on October 11, 2019 at PSA RSSO II Office. PSA RSSO II Three (3) Storey Building Phase 1, Complete The PSA RSSO II new building has reached new heights as the construction of its three-storey building Phased 1 has finally been completed. Assistant National Statistician (ANS) Socrates L. Ramores of FAS, ANS Noel G. Perez of ITDS, Architect Bernie G. Tudio, and Mr. Edwin U. Aragon, Division Chief of SOID personally witnessed the acceptance and turnover of the said building on December 17, 2019. Regional Director Marilyn T, Estrada envisions an innovative and resilient office building wherein stakeholders and clientele can experience convenience and better quality of services. The P25 Million worth of project was implemented and supervised by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Meanwhile, the construction for its Phase 2 will start on the First Quarter of 2020; the RSSO II is currently waiting for the funds to be downloaded by the Central Office. The new office building is expected to be fully functional by the year 2021.
