What I Need to Know About Signing My Child Up for Band

We encourage you to compare and find the rental
company that best suits your needs!

Music Book(s) for When do we get the instrument?

Lessons:
We require that all students
purchase “Standard of
Excellence Book 1.”
Percussionists must also
purchase “Alfred’s Drum
Method Book 1.”
Purchases may be made
through the rental company or
Amazon.
The timing of when beginning band students will get
their instruments depends on if they are doing summer
band camp.
If your child is doing summer band camp:
PLEASE LET YOUR RENTAL COMPANY KNOW
THAT YOUR CHILD WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN
PENN-TRAFFORD’S SUMMER BAND.
The company will drop the instrument off at camp prior to
the first day.

We ask that instruments are
not picked up early in the
summer for 2 reasons:
 You will be charged for the
rental prior to the start of
lessons.
 We want to help your child
learn good habits right
away!
If your child is not doing summer band camp:
Instruments will be delivered to school before school starts
in August.
