Number of ON/OFF channels available
ON/OFF inputs available on the Handy/Executive PCU
8 ON/OFF commands in MODE 2 (holding down the “Fn” button)

ON/OFF outputs available on the CU

only 6 ON/OFF outputs

Number of proportional channels available

Proportional inputs available on the CU
4 proportional channels A+B
+ a further 2 proportional channels A+B (5th and 6th) in mode 2, on the same buttons/levers as
channels 1 and 2

Proportional outputs available on the CU

only 6 proportional channels A+B

Differences compared to G2Bs
No bi-directional version available, so there are no LEDs or display
controlled by the receiver.
Cannot be used via cable: only works via radio.
Only versione with PWM output exists. No Danfoss.
Has only 4 levers / 8 switched buttons for ON/OFF commands
Additional switches can not be installed
Does not have the two Hare/Turtle speeds
Has three SETs permanently associated with three inputs with
inverted logic, which cannot be disabled or modified.
Has only 6 ON/OFF outputs and 6 proportional A+B sections
Has a different programming procedure, a little more complex..

Programming steps for G4 (Handy)
Very different procedure for Handy and Executive.

Step 1 - setting transmitter auto-switch off

Step 2 - setting the working frequency
Step 3 - setting the type of transmitter
Step 4/5 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 1A and 1B
Step 6/7 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 2A and 2B
Step 8/9 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 3A and 3B
Step 10/11 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 4A and 4B
Step 12/13 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 5A and 5B
Step 14/15 - setting the MINIMUM/MAXIMUM speed of functions 6A and 6B
Steps 16-23 - setting the ON/OFF buttons (stable/unstable)

CAN-BUS on all receivers

The G4 receiver has the CAN-BUS interface as standard.

The CAN interface is only used to read the proportional and
ON/OFF manoeuvres that the operator makes on the PCU.
Protocol available: CanOpen only (no CanKingdom, no J1939,
no Profibus)
The protocol is similar to the G2Bs, but a little simpler.

CANBUS data packets

Proportional manoeuvre values

- ON/OFF function values

- Switches and buttons
- PCU on or off
- PCU battery level
- Radio signal quality

Spare PCUs
If a spare Handy or Executive PCU needs to be sent, this is
not a problem: there is only one type of PCU and it cannot
be customised.

The only two types are for the 433 MHz or 900 MHz
frequencies (only the radio module differs).

Questions to identify which version to supply
For PWM only – It is necessary to know the model of distributor,
for the calibration (12V or 24V) and the type of wiring to be installed.

Any antenna extension

Special SINGLE PROPORTIONAL + ON/OFF mode, equivalent to

FABER-COM single-function “TEI” remote control.

It was created to allow just one manoeuvre at a time, but was

extended and, if requested, we can allow several manoeuvres at the
same time (with limited control).

This mode is also available in G2B systems but is usually used on

"economical" systems

PCU diagnostics
The procedures are different for the Handy and Executive PCUs.

For the Handy model, the P1 and P2 buttons must be held down while
the stop button is pressed in fully.

For the Executive model, the procedure is the same as for the G2Bs.

In the event of an error with a lever: sequence of beeps, the number of

beeps indicating the number of the faulty channel. The Handy model
does not come on if a button is pressed.

The two LEDS on the Executive PCU are both dual-colour (green/red).
