Angel – Really? Me too, Yesterday I was investigating a little about AI since it caught my
attention and it is very interesting -

Michel – there are also many movies and in science magazines and internet pages that talk
about this.

Angel –I have also seen many movies that talk about her, the truth was that I thought it was
impossible, but I began to investigate a lot that in the end I discovered that in reality today
they are trying to make artificial intelligence be like in the movies-

Michel- Yes, I read in an internet article that AI is the next step in IE (Business Intelligence)
solutions. The idea is to allow the total automation of the EI cycle: the incorporation and
preparation of data, predictive analysis and patterns and the identification of hypotheses.–

Angel- What I investigated was in which fields artificial intelligence could be applied and the
truth is that it has a lot of applications in different areas, whether in sales, customer service,
marketing, etc. Not only in automation. -

Michel -I think that if AI is applied in our day to day, many of the things that were difficult
before today would be much simpler. -

Angel – yes, but the truth is that it could bring a lot of unemployment since a machine could
replace a human being and leave him without a job.

Michel – The truth is that yes, but all progress has its pros and cons and the truth is that I think
that other types of jobs or even new jobs focused on the improvement or maintenance of
machines could be opened.

Angel - but still there would be many unemployed, since a single maintenance technician could
handle up to 10 machines depending on how they are, causing that of those 100 employees
who replaced with machines only a small portion are rehired as technicians.

Angel - And we, as mechatronic engineers, will be one of the main causes of this.

Angel - and what is that machine for?

Michel - It is a machine controlled by a person to do super precise surgeries.

Angel - But then the Da Vinci intelligence machine does not contain AI?

Michel - No, this machine is controlled by a person, but I put it as an example of a machine to
facilitate a job that needs a lot of precision.
Angel - And then what machine uses AI?

Michel - AI is not so much in itself, because it is very difficult and almost unnecessary to give
intelligence to a machine that must handle a single process, what we do most is create and
program machines so that the most difficult processes are done in less time.
