Vaccination 2.

Things come back and go, leaving is a primitive topic while coming back is a sympathetic one. With returns
coincides many fears, doubts and consequences, but Rosita A. Tabiraran, a Nurse 2 said that School-Based
Immunization Program did not left but will return, entering a new era of advocacy.

Vaccination was filed on year 1975, started way back on 2013 with some schools raging the bus. In year
2015, all schools implemented the SBIP with coordinance with the DILG. This years were the limelight of
the program where the community was still in favor and no one was in doubt. But recently, all had changed
with the various bumps along the road leading towards a safe Philippines.

Just in year 2018, the Dengvaxia issue is an accurate example. As said by Ma’am Rosita herself, many
parents argued with the provisions that the Department of Health holds within this program. With the
allied number of deaths, especially in the areas of CABARZON it proves that Department of Health (DOH)
was not yet ready, that she favored on.

Ma’am Rosita stated that the distribution was a big mess, a really big one, coinciding with the lack of
testing and proper use of the said vaccine. But on the other hand, still her admitting the stakeholder’s
mistake did not help on how parents see this program.

Ricky V. Tid, a parent whose child died due to the Dengvaxia Vaccine last 2018. He alleged in the Press
Conference that he will not let his children take the any vaccine from the government, even though he
himself did not experience any troubles on the vaccines that was given on his childhood.

This leaves us pondering, are we still going to favor this programs 2nd version?

Why not? The administration had admitted their mistakes with the past version of provision of this
Vaccination Program, but still the Department of Health needs to consider some factors.

As distribution and testing was a huge hindrance, they should run across the barriers, testing and
prevailing the vaccines needed well and properly.

Advocating properly can also help the opposing-positive side of the issue. As Ma’am Rosita said “Campus
Scribes will help us in advocating this to many students”.

The Riverbank would like to remind all of us that the Administration are doing their best to provoke the
mistakes they have done in the past. It’s hard to consider due to the many leaps of faith this issue had
taken, but in compliance with the public, surely; Vaccine 2.0 will be a new way to a safe environment not
only for learners but also for everyone that consumes it.
