 The Muslims are in the throes of miseries in spite of having the numerous natural
blessings
 Manifestations that reflect their miseries
1. Burning contemporary issues
 Palestine issue, Syrian war, Kashmir issue, Myanmar genocide, Yemen crisis
2. Manifestations from the past decades
 Srebrenica massacre, Afghan War, Iraq war
 Besides these palpable manifestations, the Muslims are at the nadir almost in every
spectrum of life
1. Social distress:
 Illiteracy , health problems, population issues, no access to basic facilities, Gender
discrimination and crimes
2. Economic distress:
 Poverty, low GDP, disparity of wealth
3. Political distress:
 Wars, Terrorism, Refugee crises, genocide, disputed territories and mineral
exploitation by the foreign countries
4. Psychological distress:
 Melancholy among the Muslim families
5. Religious despondencies:
 Distance from religious norms and practices, fatalism, extremism, obscenity and
vulgarity, satanic and immoral practices,
 Why the Muslims are darkened by the eclipse of miseries:
1. Lack of unity owing to sectarian conflicts
2. Attachment of countries with different power blocs
3. Prevalence of poverty and illiteracy
4. Negative role of the religious scholars
5. Economic backwardness of the Muslim States
6. Callous approach rich Muslim states
7. Absence of truly representative organization of the Ummah
 Modern world in the eyes of Allama Muhammad Iqbal
 Indubitably, the blizzard of despondency has engulfed the Muslims, but the dawn always
breaks after the endurance of the dark. We have to mull over the way-out.
 Efficacious exhortations to enlighten the Muslim world with prosperity
1. Promote the culture of tolerance and acceptance
2. Promote education, democracy, awareness, and love in the world
3. Foster the concept of ‘Musalman” in the place “ National Citizen’’
4. Arrange multifarious Cultural Exchange Programs
5. Revive OIC as a vibrant organization
6. Take steps to ameliorate the delusive image of the Muslim world, media role
7. Promote the culture of consensus-based Ijtihad
8. Establish institutions for the promotion of education, research, and technology
9. Discourage the culture of fanaticism and extremism
10. Establish different forums for the resolution of sectarian issue
11. Devise joint military force for the Muslim world
12. Devise some joint economic policies for the Muslim world
13. Affluent Islamic states should perform considerate role towards the deprived ones
