Governments should make more effort to promote alternative

sources of energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree with

this opinion?  
Promoting  new  source  of  energy  is  an  eligible  issue  in  20th  century.  As  many  
countries  have  been  over  relied  on  oil  and  gas  to  generate  power,  the  earth  is  
facing  shortage  of  resource.  Thus,  government  should  focus  on  developing  
alternate  replacement  for  the  future.  

It  is  a  fact  that  using  oil  and  gas  as  a  fuel  will  lead  to  certain  side  effect  such  as  air  
pollution  and  global  warming,  with  the  evidence  that  show  how  these  pollution  
are  harming  our  ecosystem,  it  is  undeniable  for  government  to  consider  new  
source  of  energy.  

On  the  other  hand,  some  renewable  energy  using  wind,  water,  solar  and  nuclear  
are  encouraging.  It  is  stated  that  those  energy  is  clear,  recyclable  and  sustainable.  
Some  might  argue  the  cost  to  explore  those  technologies  is  too  expensive,  
however  it  has  been  proved  that  the  reward  will  overweigh  the  cost  as  long  run.  

Few  countries  have  started  doing  research  on  new  energy.  For  example,  
Netherlands  is  well  known  for  their  wind  and  hydroid  energy,  which  it  is  capable  
to  supply  their  citizen’s  daily  usage.  Consequently,  finding  suitable  strategies  for  
such  development  is  also  critical  because  of  the  geographic  location  for  different  
countries.    For  instance,  you  could  not  expect  developing  hydroid  energy  in  
desert  but  you  can  place  solar  panels  to  generate  the  solar  power.  
Though  education  and  promotion,  the  government  should  let  the  public  know  
the  benefits  of  using  renewable  energy  and  explain  how  the  investment  is  
valuable  for  the  future.  The  government  should  also  regulate  new  construction  
to  incorporate  those  equipments  such  as  wind  turbid  and  solar  panel  to  prepare  
the  changes.  

In  conclusion,  government  should  set  the  goals  for  the  development  of  
renewable  energy.  With  the  right  direction,  I  believe  such  effort  will  guide  us  to  a  
better  life.
