Minutes of the Meeting

January 8, 2020

II. Call to order: 2:30 PM


III. Details of the Meeting
1. The meeting started with a prayer led by Mr. Edwin T. Escosora.
2. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora greeted everybody and welcome Mr. Andrei Suzara as new NSTP-CWTS Facilitator and Ms.
Jenneth D. Menor as the new secretary.
3. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora acknowledged the new secretary for the innovative look and arrangement of the office.
4. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora discussed briefly the RA 9163 or the NSTP LAW, that NSTP is a requirement for all college
students taking up 4 year baccalaureate degrees or 2 year Technical Vocational courses. Students taking NSTP can
choose from 3 components – CWTS (Civic Welfare Training Service), LTS ( Literacy Training Service) and ROTC (
Reserve Officers Training Corps) to undergo and be trained. In addition, he also mentioned the prerequisite of the
NSTP subject, that students cannot take NSTP2 without taking NSTP1 first.
5. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora also discussed the main aim of NSTP, to developed student’s Volunteerism through
Community Immersion, for them to be able to use newly acquired skills and knowledge in real life situations.
6. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora discussed the Imposition And Collection of Fees (Sec. 8, RA 9163), that schools “ shall not
collect any fee for any of the NSTP components except basic tuition fees, which shall not be more than fifty percent
(50%) of what is currently charged by schools per unit.
7. He also mentioned the Exemption of the SK officials, Sec.16 of RA 10742 that all Sanguniang Kabataan officials,
whether they are elected or appointed be exempt from taking the NSTP – CWTS subject. The SK official need to
submit reports and documentation of their programs and projects for the youth in their barangay.
8. Mr. Edwin T. Escosora discussed briefly about the NSTP Organizational Structure from President to VP for Academic
Affairs to NSTP Director down to NSTP coordinators.
9. He also talks about the Syllabus including the following:
a. Topic – for the 6th Training Day on Jan. 11, The Director will discuss about the Project Proposal needed
for student’s upcoming Community Immersion.
b. Grading system – For the 2nd Semester: Attendance and Participation 30%, Off- campus Requirement
10%, Examination 20%, Output/Project Proposal 10%, Participation during the Community Immersion
10% and Narrative Report 20%
c. Outputs – Outputs made by students are graded individually, with a corresponding points for each
output.
d. Classroom / gymnasium policies - CWTS students will use the gymnasium as their designated room
/area and for LTS Students will use Room 406-407 ACD Bldg.
10. Mr. Edwin T Escosora proposed a collaborative project/ program with CES Office with the help of Ms. Aimee, A
Feeding Program and an in- campus linis operation would also be an alternative project / program in case that
CWTS students fail or unable to comply requirements like Project Proposal, Medical, parent Consent, ect. for their
Community Immersion.
11. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 in the afternoon.
