No Backlight on LED TV? How to Troubleshoot The Power
Supply and LED Strips?
Does LED TV have no backlights? If the backlight problem is caused by power
boards or LED strips. The first step is to determine if the TV's backlights are
working if you don't have an image on the screen. The easiest way to see if the
backlights are working is to look through the TV's back cover and plug the TV in
and turn on the TV and see if there is any light on the back.
This can be difficult at times and it may help to turn off the lights to see if any
light comes on. If you can't see the light coming from the back cover, I
recommend removing the back cover. There should be holes in the back panel
below the back cover. Once you turn on the power on the TV to check if the light
comes through the holes, it helps to turn off all the lights in the room.
If you don't see the light coming through those holes, your TV backlights aren't
working. If your LED TV does not have backlights, the LED strips can be a problem
with the control board or the LED strips themselves. There are some ways to fix
the feature that there are no backlights. One way to troubleshoot is to find a
board that connects to the cables that connect to the LED strips.
If you know what voltages are on that board, you can do the following. Plugin and
turn on the TV. Then examine the voltage at the LED strip cable connections.
Examine each pin and observe the existing voltages. If the voltages are correct,
then the board seems to be working fine and most of the LED strips are a problem
and should be replaced. For replacement of LED strips, contact nearby TV repair in
Bangalore.
If the voltages are zero or less, then the problem is with the board or the LED
strips. You can do more troubleshooting by unplugging the TV, disconnecting the
cables, and then plugging back into the TV and checking the voltages on the
board. If the voltages show zero, be aware that the TV is protecting itself.
Sometimes when the connection is not loaded, the TV backlights stop producing
voltages to prevent damage. Once the voltages are good, it will work to check the
voltages on the board once you know what they are. Therefore, the only way we
recommend to know for sure whether the problem is power board or LED strips is
to disconnect the LED strip connections and test them individually using our LED
tester. The LED strip tester separates the power supply so that you can test the
strips alone and see if they are good. Connect the negative lead to the negative
connection and the positive to the negative connection.
The LED tester automatically assesses the correct voltage to send to the strips to
turn them on. You should see some light coming through the holes in your back
panel. If you do not see the light, try to turn off the lights in the room. This helps
because you are testing it to have an extra person to turn on and off the lights
when you are testing. If you are one hundred percent sure that the holes are not
exposed, then the problem is more with LED strips and you need to replace them.
If you see light coming through the panel when you test the LED strips, then the
LED strips will work more and the problem is with the board and the board should
be replaced. To determine why your TV doesn't have backlights, an LED tester is a
great way to determine if it has a board or LED strips. The LED tester can also be
used to examine individual strips of LEDs, as well as individual LEDs on a strip. Still
