of power generation range from conventional sources such as coal, lignite, natural gas,
oil, hydro and nuclear power to viable non-conventional sources such as wind, solar and
agricultural/ domestic waste etc. The power and energy system is experiencing its greatest
ever changes and challenges due to the shift from traditional power & energy networks to the
smart power/energy grids. Increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, smart monitoring and
control devices with advanced technologies are some key characteristics of these new developments.
The theme of PowerTech 2020 will showcase the latest trends, research & developments, innovations,
technological solutions, troubleshooting, operation & maintenance etc. in the various fields of Power and
Energy Engineering. The two-day gathering will offer an opportunity for engineers, scientists, professionals,
