A. Before the lesson


Elicit (5 minutes)
Students will work by group and be asked to write in Colorful meta cards
the provided meta cards the words that they can
associate with the word MELTING.
Key Questions:
 What are the terms that you can associate with
the word melting?
 Write those words in the meta cards provided.
Engage (10minutes)
Students will view a very short video clip: The Melting DLP, Laptop, video clip
Bunny”. Students will then be asked to move in groups

Key Questions:
1. Why is the bunny melting?
2. What is the direction of the flow of energy?
Explore (20 minutes)
Students will perform an activity.
Activity Objective:
After performing the activity :the students will be able

a. Is the temperature inside the sock warmer than Socks
outside? Why?
b. Describe how the energy flows in the activity.
c. Why should we wear socks?

Explain (5 minutes)
The students will report their group output to the class.

After the report, the teacher will reinforce on important Permanent Marker
concepts missed by the students.
Elaborate (10 minutes)
Teacher will give examples on real world situations that
show transfer of heat from one object to another.
Students will be asked to tell the flow of heat in the
given examples.
Evaluate (10 minutes)
In their activity notebook, students will answer the
question in not less than 30 words.

Students will list down 5 different materials that
