TERRESTRIAL PLANET TALENT SHOW

Venus: Jupiter, what are you doing here?

Jupiter: I’m signing up for the talent show of course. I have more talent than anyone.

Venus: It’s the terrestrial planet talent show.

Jupiter: What does that have to do with anything?

Venus: Terrestrial planets are like me. We are small, rocky, and orbit close to the Sun. You are a gas

giant. Ew.

Jupiter: Not that kind of gas giant. That’s a misconception that’s highly insulting. We gas giants are large,

orbit past the asteroid belt around the Sun, and are made of gaseous elements which make us look very

handsome. Now if this talent show will not accept my true talents, I won’t participate.

Announcer: 5 minutes until the show starts. 5 minutes, everyone please report to your room at this

time.

5 MINUTES LATER

Announcer: Letter A.

Mercury: Hi everyone! I’m Mercury. I rotate and revolve really quickly. I am the closest to the Sun and

am small and rocky. I am hot by day and cool by night. Thank you.

Announcer: Letter B.
Venus: Hello everyone! I’m Venus and I rotate retrograde. I have a very thick atmosphere which means

I’m very hot as you can see. I am like the sister of Earth but only better. Thank you.

Announcer: Letter C.

Earth: Hi, I’m Earth. I am the best planet because everything is based off of me. I am the only known

planet that can support life. I can make stuff grow! Perfection. Thank you.

Announcer: Letter D.

Mars: Hello everyone! I am the Mars. Hold the paparazzi please. I am small, red, dusty and the best. I

have frozen poles and two moons. I am the best planet.

Announcer: Letter E.

Kepler 186F: Hi I know I’m not exactly a terrestrial planet but I am in the habitable zone. I’m Kepler 186F

and totally not an imitation of Earth. I’m going to try to make stuff grow. Cough cough cough. It’s not

working why?

Venus: That’s disgusting.

Kepler 186F: I guess I’m not cut out for this. I’m a failure.

Judge: This has been a tough competition to choose from, but I think I have a winner in mind. Drumroll

please.

Venus: It must be me.

Earth: No me

Venus: Me!
Earth: Me!

Judge: Alright settle down. It’s……Venus!

Venus: WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I am the best.

Judge: I choose Venus because she is hot and has the best dance moves in the universe.

Venus: That’s right. Obviously.

Earth: How could you do this to me?! I was supposed to win. Now you will pay. I will cut off your oxygen

supply.

Judge: No! (Cough) Sibling. Rivalry.

Everyone: Curtain Call!

Jessica: Starring James, who was Mercury and the judge. Starring Karen, who was Venus, 5 minutes

later, later minutes 5, and Mars. And me, who was Earth, the announcer, and Kepler 186F! Special
