Type the answers to the assignment questions below. Use complete sentences unless the question
says otherwise. You will have more than one day to complete an assignment. At the end of each day,

Assignment Questions

In Section 6, you learned about recognizing business opportunities and finding business
ideas. Now you'll start developing an idea for your own company.

1. Describe 3 trends that you've noticed, and explain how each one might generate a small
business opportunity. (3-6 sentences. 3.0 points)

3 trends that you can see everywhere you go are the following: Lifestyle, Fitness, and Food.
All of these would be easy to use in order to generate a small business opportunity. For
example in the Fitness industry you could start your own line of apparel using the social
networks to promote them using marketing. The same could be applied in the food trend.

2. Make a list of at least 5 business ideas that interest you. (2.0 points)

Open a cyber where you can rent computers to people for a hour. Open a Gym. Create my
own brand and start selling apparel like shirts, hats, and wristbands. Write a book and sell it
online. Open a Restaurant. Make an app for all platforms.

3. Explain which business idea from question 2 above you think is the best opportunity for
you. Give at least 3 reasons why this opportunity is the best. TIP: Choose the business idea
that you want to develop through the rest of this course. (3-6 sentences. 6.0 points)

I believe that the most realistic business idea that I have a more than likely chance of
actually making it happen is Writing a book. The three main reasons are that I have already
started writing ideas for a topic. Also I am very confident in my writing skill and I love doing
it.

4. Will this business participate in the global marketplace? Why or why not? (2-4 sentences.
2.0 points)

Yes it is. Because after writing the book I could manage to get it up on Amazon,
and also on iBooks.

5. Describe what sorts of competitors this business is likely to face. (3-6 sentences. 3.0
points)

Some big company will want to take a person that is smart and intelligent so when a
company get that smart person, company has to pay high salary to keep him in the
company

6. Go to the SBA Web site (sba.gov) and find the section of the site for Small Business
Planning. Find at least 2 tools or pieces of information that would be helpful for starting a
business. Read about them, and then describe them here. (2-6 sentences. 4.0 points)
