Date: November 4th (first period) Level: Second grade, secondary

Skill: Writing and reading


Expected Outcomes: Students identify the subject, object and verb in a sentence. They are able to
point out each one of the parts in a sentence written in passive voice
Resources: Pictures, blackboard, and study guide prepared by me with the use of the passive
voice

Introduction 5 min Greetings


Students are introduced the aim of the class

Core of the class


Pre-stage 15 min Three students offer themselves to hold pictures (one of
claudia conserva, the other one of a man reading and the last
one of many magazines), the rest of the class has to make a
sentence in present using the pictures (Claudia reads
magazines)

Three students offer themselves to hold pictures (one of

one of many books), the rest of the class has to make a
sentence in present using the pictures (Claudia writes books)

One sign made of green paper with the word “subject” is


pasted on the board, another one with “verb” written on it
and the last one with the word “object”

Students must paste the corresponging picture below of the


corresponding part of the senteces (ex: Claudia´s picture
under the sign “subject”)
While-stage 15 min Students are shown a new sentence written in the board and
have to point out the subject, verb and object

A new sentence is written in passive voice and they have to


point out the subject, the verb and the object.

Students recieve the study guide


Students have to follow the clues (written in passive voice)
and complete the puzzle with the target words written on
top.

Post-Stage 5 min Check the answers and review the unknown vocabulary that
they found.
Closing 5 min Students are remembered how to recognize the subject, the
verb and the object in a sentence
