Our body is a sacred vessel that carries us through our life. Be kind to it and treat it with respect. We are
seeing the results of not taking care of ourselves with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, cancer
and obesity. Don’t you owe it to yourself to take care of you so that you can enjoy your life on all levels?

Tips to get started:


Exercise is a very personal thing to people. Some like the outdoors, some like
sports and others like to go to the gym or do classes. It is important that you
find something that you really enjoy doing or you won’t last a week. This is not
some 3-month boot camp to get you in shape. This is about incorporating it into
your lifestyle.

We need to fill our cars up with gas every week to keep it running efficiently.
We need to take care of our body every week to keep it running efficiently.
Also, you can start of with a walk a couple times a week or go biking or hiking.
You can join a gym and take classes that sound fun to you or you could hire a
personal trainer. My husband and I came across two books written by Bill Phil-
lips, Body for Life and Eating for Life. It has completely changed our workouts,
and eating habits not to mention our physique and emotional and mental state as
well.

Exercise and eating go hand in hand. Take a look at what you are eating and also WHY you eat. Many of us
eat because of emotional comfort or stress. When the reasons get uncovered we are able to make healthy
choices and bring back power in our lives.

Finding Your Independence


This is one of the quickest ways you can build self-esteem and take control of your life. When we become
independent in all areas of our lives it helps us reclaim our own power. When we depend on someone else
financially, emotionally or physically we are at the mercy of that person and it takes away our own personal
freedom.

This also brings up an important question. Are you looking for someone to take care of you or are you look-
ing for someone to take care of? When it comes to relationships two halves do not make a whole. It is so
important to be your own person and to be able to stand on your own without being dependant on someone
else.

This empowers you and it also brings more to the relationship. When we are fractured and looking for
someone else to complete us it takes all the energy from the relationship so there is no room left for enjoy-
ment.

Tips to get started:


Begin to really take a look at yourself. Write down all the
areas that you are dependant on others. Financially, emo-
tionally and physically. Write what it would be like if you
were able to be completely independent from others.

What would your life be like and most importantly how


would you FEEL if you were able to stand on your own
two feet? Then list some way you could begin to get closer
to becoming independent. Then, TAKE ACTION! The
more you become a person within yourself, the more you
have to share with someone else and you will attract some-
one that is whole within themselves as well.

Accept Your Current Situation


When we are able to accept a situation the way it is instead of trying to control it or fight it, ironically that
is when it begins to change. If you are in a relationship right now and it is unacceptable to you, do some-
thing about it. Talk to your partner and see if things can be worked out so that both of you are happy or get
yourself out of it. Complaining or expecting the other person to change will get you nowhere. You have to
accept that person for who they are or aren’t. This goes for us as well.

If you are single, allow yourself to be ok with being single. When we look for someone to complete us that
is a recipe for disaster. It is important for us to feel comfortable in our own skin. As we grow older, situa-
tions happen to us and we make decisions about those situations and what they mean.

We always have a choice as to which way we want to look at things. Some of these choices however, were
unconscious and stuffed away in our bodies. These are the thoughts and beliefs that are running our lives.
The key is to uncover these thoughts that are not in alignment with what we want or how we want to be and
shift them to what supports our grand vision.

We have been taught to stuff our feelings because they are uncomfortable. Feelings are energy and that en-
ergy gets stored in our body and shows up as physical ailments. Once we release these no longer needed
emotions we find that many of our physical problems are released as well.
