COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to develop proper attitudes toward healthful living. Topics
include developmental tasks of young adults; mental health and stress; cause and prevention of diseases; effects of
alcohol, tobacco and drugs; sexually and fertility management; aging; and environmental and health management
issues.

• Discuss critical health issues
• Examine and evaluate the facts of health and wellness
• Create their own opinions toward health topics
• Identify their health risks, create plans for change and make healthy lifestyle changes part of their daily routine

ATTENDANCE: 300 POINTS
• Students will earn 10pts per day for attendance and participation. 30 days total.
• Students will be on time to class.
• A late arrival or tardy is arriving after class has started within the first 20 minutes. Three late arrivals will equal
1 day of being absent. (-10pts will be taken away)
• Students risk being dropped by the instructor when more than TWO class periods in a row are missed.
• It is the student’s final responsibility to drop from a course.
MAKE-UP POLICY: NO MAKE-UP EXAMS will be offered. Students who submit, timely (24hrs), verifiable
documentation of acute disability may discuss a make-up time with the instructor.
