RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Design

The researchers used the Quantitative design to conduct the purposive random

sampling survey with the respondents to measure the efficiency of waste segregation in

the Presentation of Mary School of Clarin, Inc. by the difference of both sexes or male

and female.

Environment and Participants

This study was conducted at Presentation of Mary School of Clarin, Inc. in

Poblacion Centro, Clarin, Bohol school year 2019-2000. The school was 10000 square

meters composed of 26 buildings including; 13 classrooms, administration office,

guidance office, prefect of discipline office, registrar and cashier office, computer

laboratory, faculty room, science laboratory, sister's convent, covered court, 2 dormitory

and chapel. The total population of Presentation of Mary School of Clarin, Inc. were 369

including; students, teachers and other faculty, staffs, female and male.

Instrument

The researchers formulated a checklist which was used to determine the number

or male and female throwing garbage. The content of the checklist was on their sexes,

time and area. The time of observation was recess in morning and afternoon.

Section 21. Mandatory Segregation of Solid Wastes - The


LGUs shall evaluate alternative roles for the public and
private sectors in providing collection services, type of
collection system, or combination of systems, that best meet
their needs: Provided, That segregation of wastes shall
primarily be conducted at the source, to include household,
institutional, industrial, commercial and agricultural sources:
Provided, further; That wastes shall be segregated into the
categories provided in Sec. 22 of this Act.

Procedures

The researchers asked permission from school principal of Presentation of Mary

School of Clarin, Inc. to conduct a study on the efficiency of solid waste segregation

among the all students, teachers, faculty and staff. Given the approval, the researchers

undergone the following procedures: The researcher drafted 4 checklist covered from

different school areas. In determining the Efficiency of Solid Segregation, the

researchers prepared trash cans in every corner of the schools

Data Gathering

In order to get the level of school's efficiency in waste segregation. The

researchers during recess time will going to check if the respondents will going to throw

properly or not.
