Page 20. Rule 4.2.2. Unsupported Widths. Delete existing Rule and
substitute:
4.2.2 Unsupported Widths. Where a plate is connected to other parts Amdt. No. 2
of a built-up member along lines generally parallel to the longitudinal axis Sept. 1969.

In this Rule, 7’1 shall be taken to be the thickness of the plate, irrespective
of whether the plate is a flange or a web of the member.

Rule 5.3 Maximum Permissible Compressive Stress. Delete
