The students will read the literary text in chorus. Then, the teacher will ask the following
questions:
1. What did the text make you feel?
2. What makes a Filipino a Filipino?
3. What was meant by this line? “Should I not call myself a culture orphan? A
illegitimate child of many races?”
4. What perspectives of being a Filipino does the writer provide?
5. Is there a change of perspective at the latter part of the text?
6. What message does it express? Is it valuable?
7. How do you see the Filipinos today? Did the Filipinos change? How much?
8. How can you show Filipinism in your own unique ways?

2. What is the theme of the text?
3. According to the text, who insisted in using Filipino as a medium for writing?

The students will construct a literary piece of their choice with the theme “Changing
