4: Book games and literary quiz

-are simple guessing games (name the book described).

8: Designing of book marks, book jackets and posters on library themes

-book jackets protects the book and gives a visual appeal to its content.
Creatively designed book jackets and book marks attract reader. Students
and teachers are given a chance to read the book before the competition.

11: Book character day

-students, staff and faculty dress up creatively as their favorite characters


from books they love. The best costume surely will be the winner.

20: Get caught reading


-this school-wide activity encourages students to read during their free
time. Students can be anywhere in the high school and be in the midst of
reading to receive their prize. The librarian can then take a picture of the
student to add to a collection of students who were caught. If the prize is
worthwhile, this may convince students who would not normally read to
pick up a book and begin reading.

26: Readers theater

-this activity can help students become more excited about material in
classic works of literature that are found in the library. Select several
groups of students in a class or grade to put on a presentation can be funny,
series or a mix of both. Try to encourage students who would not normally
participate by making it a competition. The students do not have to
memorize lines, they simply can sit in their chairs and read the book, but
they can use their voices to make the material fun and interesting.

29: Bookworm

-a student who borrowed books many times or their name listed many times
on log book, inside of the month is she/he will received prize and given the
title, “bookworm of the month”. His/her name will be posted on bulletin
board so that more students encourage reading or borrowing books. But the
librarian will make sure that the student who won used the book wisely.

POLICIES FOR USING AUDIO VISUAL AND ELECTRONIC
PROGRAM

1. Audio/Visual equipment is here for the use of Faculty, Staff, and Students, Faculty

and Staff may checkout equipment directly, but students may checkout

equipment only with the authorization of a Faculty member or a Librarian.

2. The Faculty member must provide authorization information, the student’s name

and an index code for possible billing requirements. This information can be

provided by writing.

3. Off-Campus groups meeting on-campus may use A/V materials, but must make

arrangements with the Faculty member or Librarian.

POLICIES FOR BORROWING BOOKS/PRINT MATERIALS

1. A library card is non-transferable. Student/s caught using a library card of another


will have the item confiscated and is subject for disciplinary action by guidance
counselor.

2. A library card is required for borrowing or returning both prunt and non-print
materials. A library card should be reported immediately to any Library Staff. A
fee of 10.00 Php will be charged for its replacement.

3. Students may borrow two (2) books at a time, one (1) non-fiction book for
overnight use and one (1) fiction book for a period of one (1) week.

4. For Book Club Members, they can borrow four (4) books at a time (two (2) fiction
and two (2) non-fiction books).

5. When borrowing books, present your Library Card and fill-in the necessary
information in the Log Book, Borrower’s Card and Book Card. Give back the
filled-in cards to the Librarian at the counter for proper issuance and stamping of
due date.

6. Students with unsettled obligations (overdue fines or books not return) cannot
borrow book until said obligation is being settled.

7. Upon leaving the library, present the books borrowed to the librarian.

8. To return books, simply present your borrower’s card for counter checking and
signing. Be sure your borrower’s card or library card is countersigned by the
Librarian before leaving.

9. Lost book/s must be reported immediately to the Librarian to avoid accumulated


fine. A lost book must either be replaced with the same author and title or paid
according to its value and 20% such cost and a fine, if there is any.

10. An overdue fine is going to be charged when the book is not returned on time.
Sundays and Holidays are excluded in the computation of overdue fines. Ten
pesos (10.00Php) a day will be charged for overdue books.
