 OBJEKTIF KURSUS
• To Understand the various aspects contained in the Water
Supply Regulations 1995 and Spesifikasi AM bagi Pembinaan
Saluran Paip Air 1982

• To acquire basic knowledge related to HDPE pipes and Ductile

Iron pipes

• General knowledge on setting of trench profiles, preparation of

trench, laying of mains and backfiling, testing of new main &
disinfection

• To understand the basic concept and functioning of various

fittings & their correct applications

Licensing of Main Pipe Layers
• Under Regulation 125 of the Water Supply Regulations 1995, a person may
apply for a mainlayer license from the State Water Authority.
• Before a mainlayer can apply for a license and sit for the test, he or she must
have at least 5 years continous working experience under a licensed pipe fitter
or have a minimum 2 years apprenticeship under an approved training
institution and have successfully passed the apprenticeship course.
• The candidate must be able to read and write reasonably well, must know and
understand the Water Supply Regulations and be able to fill in the application
form in a satisfactory manner.
• Licensing will be issued subject to candidate passing the prescribed test in a
satisfactory manner.
• As of May 2005, there are all together 194 license mainslayer registered with
State Water Authority.
