Background

Lulamba Skills Training Centre is a TEVETA accredited technical training institution in Chingola offering technical
training in Automotive Mechanics, Automotive Electrical, Computer Short Courses and Tailoring, Cutting & Designing at
Craft and Trade Test Levels 1, 2 and 3 Certificates respectively.

Previously the institution was under administration of the Catholic’s Marist Brothers upon its establishment in 1980,
who were funded by their countries of origin. As missionaries, time came when they had to hand over the institution’s
operations to the Local Church of the Catholic Dioceses of Ndola in 1990.

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide as many young women & men of the lower income bracket of our society with holistic & up-to-date
profession skills education in order for them to face the ever present challenges of modern life with courage and hope.
VISION
To be the most efficiently managed community skills and entrepreneurship training Centre in Zambia.

Provide quality skills training at affordable cost.

Application form and registration fee K100

COURSES ON OFFER;

1. Automotive mechanics – Craft Certificate for 2 years – Entry requirements; 5 0’ level passes. Fees K2, 700 per term.

2. Automotive electrical – Craft Certificate for 2 years - Entry requirements; 5 0’ level passes. Fees K2, 700 per term.

3. Automotive electrical – Trade Test level 1 for 1 year – Entry requirements- Grade 9 Certificate with passes. Fees K1, 850 per term

4. Automotive mechanics – Trade Test level 1 for 1 year. –Entry requirements- Grade 9 Certificate with passes. Fees K1, 850 per term.

5. Computer Short Courses. K200 per programme.-requirements: Grade 9 &12 Certificate with passes. Fees K1, 300 full course.

6. Tailoring, cutting and designing – 1 year. K200 per month. Free Computer Lessons. Entry Requirements: Grade 7, 9 & 12
Certificate with passes.

We conduct the following intakes: January-May; June-July and August –September every year, whereas Computer Short Course is
open.

Boarding facilities readily are available on first come, first serve basis.

Selected students shall deposit their money in the Account Number below and will be required to produce a bank
deposit slip before admission into class.

INSTITUTION RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Leaving the institution early than stipulated time and absence during class hours is not allowed
2. Unauthorized/extended tea break or lunch breaks is not allowed.
3. Horseplay while in class or workshop or within the institution is not allowed.
4. Being found in any place other than one’s place of study without a valid reason is not allowed.
5. Abuse of any psychotropic substance including smoking and drinking at school premises is forbidden.
6. AWOL for the period of two (2) days to three (3) days should communicate immediately to the HOD.
7. Failure to notify course coordinator of absence within 2 days or 48 hours will attract disciplinary action.
8. Failure to comply with college policy or instructions in any form is punishable.
9. Failure to report any damage to college property will result into a fine
10. Unauthorized removal of college property will not be condoned or be fined.
11. Riotous behaviour within the college premises will result into expulsion
12. Use of abusive language to superiors/lecturers will be punishable by the lecture on duty immediately
13. Negligently causing damage to college property will result into a fine as appropriately considered.
14. Failure to report an incident in the workshop will attract a penalty or will be reprimanded.
15. Bringing the college’s name into disrepute or tarnishing the image of the college will be expelled.
16. Answering the cell phone in class during lectures not allowed.
17. Assaulting a fellow student will result into expulsion.
18. Malicious intimidation towards a college employee, client and officials will result into suspension.
19. Using unnecessary violence against any person in the course of studies is punishable.
20. Participating in riots, strikes and protest will result in expulsion.
21. Inciting fellow students or any member of the public to cause damage or harm to property/expelled.
22. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated at the institution.
23. Boycott class without a justifiable or legitimate reason will result in appropriate punishment.
24. Dishonest conduct with intent to defraud steal or cause loss to the resources will indemnify the college.
25. Anyone using college property recklessly resulting into damage will be fined accordingly.
26. No one is allowed to bring unauthorized people in the college workshop.
27. Making false report verbally or in writing with intent to mislead the college authority will be punishable.
28. Accepting a bribe or inducement during examinations will be penalized or blacklisted forthwith.
29. Misappropriation of college resources or property during practicals will not be condoned.
30. Doing unauthorized private work in the college workshop is not permitted.
31. Contravening college IT policy/Computer laboratory will not be permitted.
32. No food or drinks will be allowed in the computer lab.
33. Altering on any official document or script will not be permitted or allowed.

This is not exhaustive list of misconduct or serious breach of rules, regulations & conditions and each case shall
be judged on the potential impact of the behaviour as it affects the wellbeing of the college’s operations and
ethics.
