Teacher's Activity Student's Activity

Teacher: Good morning class. Student: Good morning, ma'am.

T: Okay, prayer leader please lead the prayer S: (prayer leader leads the prayer)
T: Okay, now arrange your chairs properly S: Yes ma'am.
and pick up those pieces of paper under
your chairs

T: Take your seats, and let's check your attendance. S: No one is absent ma'am.
First column who is absent? Second? Third?

T: Now who can recall the topic that we had last S: (Students raising their hands)
meeting?

T: Yes, Mae. S: Last meeting, we have tackled about the

track events and the different types of it.
T: Very good. Now who can recall the different
types of track events? S: (Students raising their hands)

T: Yes, John. S: The different types of track events is the

sprinting, hurdles, relays, long distance and
race walking.
T: Okay, very good. And now that we are done
discussing the different types of track events
1
we will now proceed into the field events, which is
jumping and throwing. But we are going
to focus into jumping.

Presentation

(The teacher posted a pictures of the field events)

T: As you can see on the board there are

3 types of Jumping events which is the
pole vault, the triple jump and the high jump.

T: High jump is a field event in which

competitors must jump over a horizontal
bar placed at measured heights without the
aid of certain devices. Triple jump sometimes
referred to as the hop, step and jump or the
hop, skip and jump, is a track and field sport,
similar to the long jump, but involving a
"hop, bound and jump". While the pole vault
is a field event in which a person uses a long,
flexible pole which today is usually made
either of fiberglass or carbon fiber) as an
aid to jump over a bar.
So, as you can see it all involved in jumping. S: (students raising their hands)
For you what is jumping?

T: Yes, Jake. S: Jumping is to spring off the

ground.

T: Very good. It is to spring off the ground

or other base by a muscular effort of the legs and feet.

T: What else? S: (students raising their hands)

T: Yes, Lea. S: to move suddenly and in one

motion.

T: Very good. So, jumping is to move suddenly

or to leap over or across. Jumping is a form of locomotion
or movement in which an organism or non-living
mechanical system propels itself through the air along a
ballistic trajectory.

T: Is jumping good for the health of an individual? S: (in chorus) Yes, ma'am.

T: Why? S: (students raising their hands)

T: Yes, Michael. S: Because it strengthens the lower

body.

T: yes, jumping strengthens the upper and lower

body.

3
T: Jumping can be distinguished from running,
galloping, and other gaits where the entire body \is
temporarily airborne by the relatively long duration
of the aerial phase and high angle of initial launch.

T: Our activity is all about the jumping rope.

I guess all of you knows how to do the jumping
rope. Am I right? S: (in chorus) yes, ma'am.

T: Ok, before we proceed I will discuss about

the jumping rope for fitness.

T: Why is some people consider jumping rope S: (students raising their hands)
for fitness?
T: Yes, Lee. S: because it is inexpensive

T: Very good. What else? S: (students raising their hands)

T: Yes, Vanessa. S: Some consider it because they can do

it practically anywhere.
T: Very good. And some individual considered it for
fitness because they can do it together with their family.

Generalizations

T: Any questions or clarifications regarding S: (some students raise their hands)

our lesson?

T: Yes, Janine. S: Is jumping rope good for the health?

T: Thanks Janine for that question. Of course

jumping rope is good for the health aside from the
fitness that we get it is also certainly good for
the heart, it also strengthens the upper and lower
body and burns a lot o calorie for a short time.

T: Any clarifications? S: None so far.

T: Okay now we'll proceed into our activity.

Application

T: I told you to bring jumping rope. You can now get it S: (students form a group)
and form a group with 6 members. Each must have a
partner. We are going to do the jumping rope with a
rhyme.
T: (write on the board the humpty dumpty rhyme)
4
(outside the classroom)
T: ( the teacher sang the humpty dumpty rhyme) S: (students followed)

T: You will find a place and it will be done with

you and your partner turning and singing the rhyme
with only one jumping rope. Then you are going to
switch. Let the other hold the jumping rope and then
sing and jump.
