First of all, thanks to Allah SWT because of the help of Allah, writer finished
writing the paper entitled “Program Semester” right in the calculated time.

The purpose in writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment that given by
Mam. Aulia Hanifah Qomar, M.Pd as lecturer in Course Design major.

In arranging this paper, the writer trully get lots challenges and obstructions

but with help of many individuals, those obstructions could passed. Writer also

realized there are still many mistakes in process of writing this paper.

Because of that, the writer says thank you to all individuals who helps in the
process of writing this paper. Hopefully Allah SWT replies all helps and bless you all.
The writer realized this paper still imperfect in arrangment and the content. Then
the writer hope the criticism from the readers can help the writer in perfecting the

INTRODUCTION

A. The Purpose Of Learning


Students can arrange the semester program.

B. Background

Learning planningis a translation of the applicable curriculum inti learing


programs which can then be made into guidelines by the teacher in organizing
the learning process. In educational activities educators should know about
planning learning in order to facilitate an education system and be able to carry
out effective and efficient learning. Then careful planning is needed, including
one of them is a semester program.

The semester program is a design of activities that must be prepared and


implemented in an educational institution. Therefore in this paper the speaker will
explain in depth about the design of the semester program, with the hope that it
can add useful knowledge for life.

DISCUSSION

A. Understanding The Program Semester

According to KBBI, the program is a program in the school system that


prepares a number of subjects intended for students who wish to continue
their studies. While the semester is a unit of time used for the implementation
of educational programs

Program semester is a teaching program that must be achieved during


one semester, during this period students are expected to master knowledge,
attitudes and skills as a whole. The semester program is elaborated from the
Teaching Program Outline in each field of study / subject, which consists of:
ubject / sub-topic, time allocation, and meeting allocation when the subject /
sub-topic is presented.

The program semester is a program that contains outlines about things


that must be discussed and completed in one semester. This semester
program is a translation of the program tahunan.

In the semester education program the smallest time unit is used,


which is the semester unit to declare the duration of an education program.
Each semester program is complete and is one roundness and is
independent. At the end of each semester, all semester program material
presented must be finished and students who take the program can be
determined to pass or not.

In general, this program semester contains the month, the subject matter
to be conveyed, the planned time, and the information. The components of
the semester program include:
1. Identity (education units, subjects, classes, semesters),
2. Core competencies,
3. Basic competence,

4. Subject matter,
5. Learning activities,
6. Indicator,
7. Assessment (technique, form of instrument, sample of instrument),
8. Time allocation,
9. Learning resources, and character.

B. Urgency Of Program Semester

If a teacher teaches without making program tahunan and program


semester what happens is that many teachers are not prepared to complete
the material that will be given to their students, even some teachers cannot
complete the material.
First, the possibility of material delay is caused by the lack of students
capturing the material presented so the teacher has to repeat the material so
that the class he teaches can be completed. The consequence is to increase
the time allocation for the material, the impact would affect other SK and KD.
Second, there is no material map in terms of semester and year, material
map is important to know the distribution of material against the allocation of
time. The material map referred to is none other than Program Tahunan
(Prota) and the Program Semester (Prosem), both of these programs are
structured to become guidelines and teacher limits for presenting material on
the allocation of time, whether for one semester or for one school year.

C. Steps To Form a Program Semester.


The program semester contains a time allocation for each basic
competency (KD) or topic in detail in each semester. Each basic competency
or topic is developed as an indicator or sub-topic and an agreed allocation is
determined for each effective week in each month for one semester.

The steps that can be taken to develop a semester program are:

1. Determine the competency standard and basic competency to be
achieved. In this case the teacher does not need to formulate basic
competencies and basic competencies, because everything has been
determined in the content standards, namely in the education unit level
curriculum “KTSP” that we are familiar with, except if we are required to
formulate our own skd, for example in formulating local content curriculum
“Muatan Lokal”.
2. See the annual program determining the allocation of time or number of
hours of study for each competency standard and basic competencies.
3. Determine in what months and weeks the learning process for basic
competencies will be carried out.
4. Make notes or information for parts that need explanation.

Steps to form Program Semester


1. Enter basic competencies, topics and sub topics in the Program Semester
format.
2. Menentukan jumlah jam pada setiap kolom minggu dan jumlah tatap muka
per minggu untuk mata pelajaran.
3. llocate time according to the needs of the topic and sub topic topics in the
week and month columns.
a. Calculate the time allocation in a year based on the education calendar
issued by the education unit.

The things to note are:

1. The number of weeks in each month


2. Number of effective weeks per month (weeks where KBM occurs)
3. Number of ineffective weeks (weeks where KBM does not occur, for
example, school anniversary, public holidays, etc.)
4. Number of weeks, effective weeks, ineffective weeks.

b. Calculate the time allocation per semester.

The things that are considered the same as the calculation of the time

allocation in a year.

c. Determine the number of effective hours in a semester


The things to note are:

1. The number of effective weeks in the calculation of time allocation in one


semester minus the ineffective week. Example: Week in this semester is 26
weeks, which is not effective 9 weeks, then effective week is 26-9 = 17
weeks.
2. Effective semester hours are the product of effective week multiplication with
the number of hours of study in one week. For example: Physics class VII
Number of hours per week 2 hours / class. Then the effective study hours per
semester is 17 x 2 subject = 34 subject hours.
d. Time allocation distribution
The things to note are:
1) Calculate the number of basic competencies in the semester.
2) Determine the depth and breadth of the material in the Basic
Competence.
3) Distribute the effective hours that have been calculated for each
Basic Competency based on breadth and depth.
4) Describe the results of the spread on a matrix that has been
completed with months and weeks for 1 semester by taking into
account also ineffective weeks / days.

1. Facilitate a teacher in the learning process for one semester.
2. As a direction for activities in achieving the learning objectives undertaken.
3. As an archetype in regulating the tasks and authority for each element
involved in learning activities.
4. As a work guideline for each element, both teachers and students.
5. As a measure of the effectiveness of a learning process so that at any time
can be known accuracy and inaction of work.
6. For data preparation materials so that there is a work balance.
7. To save time, energy, equipment and money.

E. Function Of The Program Semester


1. Can serve as a reference for teachers to carry out teaching and learning
activities to be more directed and run efficiently and effectively.
2. Functioning as a teacher's teacher in learning.

3. Can serve to measure every time needed to deliver certain subject matter,
and calculate effective learning hours.
4. Serves as the achievement of objectives in delivering material. Through
good planning, the learning process and outcomes can be carried out in a
balanced manner.

CONCLUSION

Program Semester is a program that contains lines about the things that are
to be carried out and achieved in one semester. This semester program is a
translation of the annual program. In general, the components of this semester
program are: identity (education unit, subject, semester, academic year), month,
competency standards and subject matter to be delivered, planned time and
information. In the semester education program the smallest time unit is used, which
is the semester unit to declare the duration of an education program. Each semester
program is complete and is one roundness and is independent. At the end of each
semester, all semester program material presented must be finished and students
who take the program can be determined to pass or not.
