II. Subject Matter : THE VIABILITY OF A BUSINESS AND ITS IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY

III. Procedure:

A. Awareness

1. Post a saying on the board and allow the students to share something about it.

Below are performance tasks. Choose one which you can definitely do. In a ___________________,
share something about the saying below.

After, each will look for classmates who choose the same task and form a group.

B. Activity

1. Divide the class into four groups.


2. Let the students perform a role-play showing the different roles/capabilities of a
business and its impact on the community.
G1 - Business as Producer and Supplier of Goods and Services
G2 - Agent of Globalization
G3 – Maintain Good Relations
G4 – Corporate Social Responsibility
3. Give the students a 5-minute preparation & a 2-minute presentation for each group
C. Analysis
Ask the students the following questions:

1. What do the Businesses do with regards to their role?


2. What are impacts of these roles on the community/society?

D. Abstraction

Discuss and explain the role of business and its impact in the society

1. Business as Producer and Supplier of Goods and Services


2. Agent of Globalization
3. Maintain Good Relations
4. Corporate Social Responsibility

E. Application:

1. Group the students based on the previous groupings.

2. Using a word web let the students provide the words which they think will explain the
different roles/capabilities of a business and its impact on the community.

3. Evaluate students output based on the rubric below:

IV. Evaluation:
Students will choose their favorite automobile of the past or present and construct a graphic
organizer that includes 10 factors of production for that automobile. The 10 factors of
production will be analyzed and labelled as land, labor, entrepreneurship or capital.
