- governance in an enterprise is the accountability of the board of directors

- Governance is about planning the framework for work and ensuring it is done.
- Management (organizing the work) and operations (doing the work)

 Dif between Governance and Management


 processes have different types of activities.
 governance processes are organized following the EDM model (“Evaluate—Direct—Monitor”)
 ensure that enterprise objectives are achieved by evaluating stakeholder needs (Evaluate), directing,
and delegating decision-making roles, responsibilities, and processes in the organization (Direct);
and monitoring, performance, compliance, and progress against plans (Monitor).
  In enterprises, IT governance should be the accountability of the board of directors under the
leadership of the chairperson.
 Based on the governance activities at board-level, business and IT management plans, builds, runs,
and monitors activities (an interpretation of Deming’s PDCA circle Plan, Do, Check, Act) in alignment
with the direction set by the governance body to achieve the enterprise objective
 IT governance is the board’s accountability/responsibility and the execution is executive’s
accountability/responsibility.
