MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 004

Series of 2017
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE OFFICIAL SEAL OF THE SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF
PURA, TARLAC, PRESCRIBING THE USE AND IMPOSING PENALTY FOR
UNNOFFICIAL/UNAUTHORIZED USE THEREOF

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan of Pura recognized the need for the council to have a
logo/seal that will represent the principles and aspirations of the body;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan is likewise necessary to identify official transactions and
documents of the Sanggunian;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF PURA,

TARLAC, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Official Logo/Seal. The official logo/seal of the Sangguniang Bayan of Pura, Tarlac shall
be as depicted below:

SYMBOLS AND REPRESENTATIONS

BLUE, RED AND SUN

- represents allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines

SIXTEEN STARS
- represent the sixteen barangays in the municipality.

TORCH AND LAUREL LEAF

-symbolizes the commitment of the Sanggunian as mentors and as guiding light for
others in the name of Public Service.

SCROLL AND QUILL PEN

-symbolizes duty of the Sanggunian to enact measures for the benefit of the
common
good.

SCALE OF JUSTICE
-the idea of the fair distribution of law, with no influence of bias, privilege or
corruption.

SECTION 2. Purpose of Seal and Authorized Use of Logo/Seal. The official logo/seal of the
Sangguniang Bayan shall be for official purposes only. It shall appear in all official documents of the
Sangguniang Bayan and in circumstances where the Sanggunian permits the use thereof.

SECTION 3. Unauthorized use of the logo/seal. It shall be unlawful for any person, natural or juridical,
to print the official logo/seal of the Sangguniang Bayan for purpose of sale, distribution or circulate,
manufacture, publish, use, display or offer for sale any document or items, merchandise which simulate
the official logo/seal of the Sangguniang Bayan without the express written consent of the Sangguniang
Bayan.

Any violation of this provision shall be punishable by an imprisonment of not more than thirty (30) days
or a fine of not more than Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P 2,500.00) or both, subject to the
discretion of the courts.

SECTION 4. Separability. In the event that a part of this ordinance be declared invalid, the remaining
provisions not declared so shall stand effective.

SECTION 5. Repealing Clause. Any ordinance or measure found to be inconsistent with this ordinance
shall be deemed repealed.

SECTION 6. Effectivity. This ordinance shall be effective upon its approval.
