The First Term Test of English

Read the text below carefully then do the activities

Weather changes constantly and can be very unpredictable, this consequently affects all
the different aspects of our daily life, especially our clothing habits. Some people live in places
where it stays warm all year. Some people live in places where it is cold all year. In contrast,
some other people live in places where it changes from season to season. Your clothing or
wardrobe changes depending on where you live.

If you live in Florida, most of your clothes would be for warm or hot weather. You may
need a raincoat or a thin coat for the cooler months. If you live in Alaska, your clothes would
consist of sweaters and jackets. Alaska can be warmer in the summer but not too hot, so layers
work well in Alaska. If you live in New Jersey, you have hot summers and cold winters. In
New Jersey, you need all different types of clothing because you get every type of weather.

Dressing appropriately is very important, so you need to be prepared for different weather
at all the times in order not to get “caught out in the cold”.
