This chart shows the CEs with 30% to 60% starting NP gauge when max-limit-broken (MLB); MLB effects are shown here. | SaberofAvalon last updated 2019-12-27
Limited gacha CEs are underlined. Demonic Bodhisattva is part of the normal gacha pool. The rest of the gold-rarity CEs are earned through events.
Here are most of the 5* CEs that are ranked "A" or above on the JP Appmedia CE rankings. In addition, we also include other 5* CEs that have 50% or higher starting NP gauge.
Note that Appmedia CE rankings are "versatility" rankings and aren't necessarily dependable for whales/dolphins since Appmedia deducts points for gatcha CEs where MLB is "required". Another important line of thought is that
offensive 0% gauge CEs are often only used for facecarding and therefore star-absorb and npgain are extremely valuable on those CEs. Utility CEs are highly rated when they can provide encounter-breaking effects (e.g. instant stars,
saberofavalon
defense-pierce, invul-pierce, special powermods, etc.)
You can hover over certain cells for special notes. Non-MLB stats are in parentheses unless the CE is a welfare. In the future, we might 4*/3* CEs and other notable CEs with lower rankings. The CEs are ordered by release date within
each type. [Last updated 2019-11-02]

- Leveling CEs requires a ton of CE fodder. Most of your CE EXP will come from low- Some split-stat CEs may be worth leveling due to their utility or because alternatives
rarity CEs received from rolling Friend Point gacha. This is why FP is very important are too niche to bother with. For example: Prismas Cosmos, Demonic Bodhisattva,
and you will want to make sure you participate in Lottery Events to earn large Dive to Blue, Painting Summer, New Beginning, Pilgrimage to the Other Side, etc.
amounts of FP from the lotto boxes. Since leveling CEs is so costly and significant, it
is important to plan carefully. Note that leveling a CE from level 1 to level 80 takes
about the same amount of CE EXP as leveling from level 80 to level 100! (The cost is
"exponential" but the stats are linear.)
Examples of some other notable zero-starting-gauge CEs might include: Choco
Pharaoh, Joint Recital, Royal Icing, Sign of Smiling Face, A Moment of Silence,
Midsummer Moment, Cute Orangette, Talk of Hot Sands, etc.
Strictly following Trubo's guide is not necessary. It's important to learn how the system works, and then make your own judgments on how you want to build your CE bombs. Trubo's guide directs you to make a brand new CE base with
each iteration for minimal QP cost. Most of the time, it's fine to keep feeding CE fodder into a single MLB 1☆ CE bomb without remaking the base in order to save yourself from headaches.
Why you shouldn't burn CEs from the Friend Point gacha
It takes 16.6 million CE experience to level a MLB 5☆ CE from level 15 to level 100
Let's assume we spend 30 SQ from the normal SQ gacha and we use all of the 4☆ and 3☆ CEs for leveling our 5☆
Let's instead roll friend point gacha for 1☆ 2☆ 3☆ CEs and use them for leveling our 5☆ CE.
CE. We don't use the 5☆ CEs we get.
On average, our distribution will be the following:
Based on data collected by Atlas Academy, our distribution will be the following:
40% chance to roll 3☆ CE (worth 6k exp)
30% chance to roll 1☆ CE (worth 1k exp)
12% chance to roll 4☆ CE (worth 10k exp)
17% chance to roll 2☆ CE (worth 3k exp)
Of the ten cards in our multi-pull, one is a guaranteed gold card. Let's use the "best" case assumption that this gold card is a
5% chance to roll 3☆ CE (worth 6k exp)
4☆ CE we can use for CE exp.
Then our 30SQ is worth this amount in CE exp on average: Then our average 2000 FP multipull in the friend gacha is worth this amount in CE exp:
9 * [(0.12 * 10k) + (0.40 x 6k)] + 10k = 42.4k 10 * [(0.30 x 1k) + (0.17 x 3k) + (0.05 x 6k) = 11.1k
Now let's take a look at great success and super success rates during 2x success rate campaigns.
Now let's take a look at great success and super success rates during 2x success rate campaigns.
Great success (3x) has a 4% chance of happening
Great success (3x) has a 4% chance of happening
Super success (2x) has a 22% chance of happening
Super success (2x) has a 22% chance of happening
So 11.1k of raw CE EXP is worth 11.1k x [(0.74)+(0.04x3)+(0.22x2)] = 11.1k x 1.3 = 14.43k CE exp
So 42.4k of raw CE EXP is worth 42.4k x [(0.74)+(0.04x3)+(0.22x2)] = 42.4k x 1.3 = 55.12k CE exp during campaign
during campaign
Leveling a 5☆ CE from level 15 to level 100 therefore takes:
Leveling a 5☆ CE from level 15 to level 100 therefore takes:
16.6M / 55.12k = 301 multi rolls (9030 SQ) if you somehow were able to save all these CEs for the 2x success rate
16.6M / 14.43k = 1150 multi rolls (2.3M FP)
campaign. Unfortunately, in practice, you don't have the inventory space to actually save all of your gacha CEs until these
We can wait until 2x success rate campaign to roll our FP for these fodder CEs.
campaigns. The more obvious problem is that 9030 SQ is a TON of money! (~4.3k USD)
At +9 petal bonus, it took us about 3.24 runs to earn enough petals for one box: 3.24 runs at 40AP per run = 130AP.
That makes our box cost 0.926 golden apples or SQ refills.

[1] Rank A if not otherwise specified
[2] Looking at *effects* of MLBing the CE but DISREGARDING the increased attack/hp cap; this is NOT a
rating of the overall power level of the CE
Even if an MLB effect is "low" or "ok", you will definitely want to MLB the CE for the increased attack stat
cap if you do indeed plan on extensively using the CE
[3] The extra 10% gauge is normally not particularly useful since this CE is typically used in setups with
supports with 50% np gauge charge skills
Regardless, note specific servants such as Jeanne Archer have 40% gauge batteries
[4] The MLB 50% starting gauge is relatively important when you use this CE for NP refund farming comps;
it is 40% non-MLB
[5] 60% gauge is great for double merlin and with 20% gauge charge skills; otherwise there is no other MLB
effect so non-MLB 50% starting gauge is fine too if you disregard increased ATK cap (which may be
important for you because the CE has low attack due to split-stats)
[6] While quite usable even without MLB, this CE is usually used for NP-spam comps so every little bit of
NP damage and gain is good. Also, it has 2,000 max attack.
[7] Usually compared with [Dive to Blue] or [Painting Summer] for Arts looping comps
[9] 60% NP gauge greatly benefits comps such as double Merlin and servants like Ozy and Karna with
effectively 20% NP charge
[16] 12% (10%) worth of cardmod to Buster and Arts so only useful for BA servants; starting 40% charge
when non-MLB is awkward
[17] When non-MLB, the starting NP gauge is an extremely awkward 40%; attack is max 2k; be wary of
modifiers
[18] Appmedia ranks this CE as C due to the split stats and the arts buff being only 3 turns. We often only
need 3 turns when farming. The 60% starting charge when MLBed is also interesting. Nevertheless, future
Arts CEs are more flexible and more valuable.

Arts CEs are more flexible and more valuable.
[19] non-MLB starting gauge is 50% which is usually good enough; the CE appears to be useful for arts 3T,
but the CE has split stats
[20] Default CE for Arts 3T farming when NP gen is not required; compare with [Painting Summer].
Note that [Dive to Blue] and [Painting Summer] are usually better for farming because of the NPmod and
NPgen respectively.
Therefore, chasing to MLB this CE might not be worth it for everyone. The crit damage here is good and
better suited for harder content.
[22] Default CE for Arts 3T farming when NP gen is desired for full NP refund looping; compare with [Dive
to Blue].
[23] Great Arts gatcha CE with no starting gauge; 2000 ATK + arts up + np dmg + np gen
[24] There are so many good offensive stats loaded into this CE that MLBing is a solid idea. It appears on
an amazing rotating New Years banner too.
[25] Great Arts gatcha CE with no starting gauge; 2000 ATK + arts up + np dmg + np gen
[26] Non-MLB starting NP gauge is 50%. Modifiers only increase 2% when MLB. Stats max out at 1k attack
when MLB.
[35] This CE is the standard 5* CE for when you need star absorb and crit damage for whatever reason.
MLB is generally not required. Note the lack of charge so this is for long face-card fights - usually with ad
hoc comps.
You will often see this CE in CQ meme videos where the DPS is a berserker or avenger and where the
setup is unable to generate max stars every turn.
[36] Unique in its effect. Strong when two supports are each carrying one. Naturally only worthwhile in
harder content / challenge quests.
Newer players may overestimate the power of 2030. For example, Prismas Cosmos on Tamamo or
Bodhisattva on Merlin is often preferred over 2030.

[37] The only effect aside from the 50% starting gauge is healing *received*. Possibly useful for healing
supports for CQs.
[38] The only effect aside from the 50% starting gauge is 4 stars per turn. Possibly useful for F2P comps
