Reflection paper about the consequences of high fertility:

some conflicting perspective

“Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not
accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something that precedes
the individual. Anyone who either cannot lead the common life or is so self-sufficient as not to
need to, and therefore does not partake of society, is either a beast or a god. ” – Aristotle

This quotation somehow relate to, “The consequences of high fertility: some conflicting
perspective”, because it explains why each individual becomes part of the economic growth
without considering the rapid population growth. It explains why population growth is not an
issue but rather a desirable fact that helps the country to develop.

Human has its own critical thinking that designs the unique mind set of everyone. Man’s
mind is the key to success but since it has been taken for granted, the most important thing is
disregarded and the issues is been recognized. Like the consequences of high fertility, it does not
always give a negative result to all developing countries. Other may need it the most because the
people who live in their place are limited and cannot produce many skilled workers.

Underdevelopment, world resource depletion and environmental destruction, population

distribution, and subordination of women are characterized as the real problem of the economy
according to the observers of rich and poor nations.

Underdevelopment is a problem of the economy because it contradicts the idea of having

the goal of the nation, which is to develop rapidly.

World resource depletion and environmental destruction is another problem that blocks
the development of the country because it limits the resources and produce scarce on natural
products.

Population distribution is such a problem of many nations in the world but it doesn’t
mean that population growth is the main reason behind this problem. It such that people living in
one area is having rapid population growth, therefore the resources in there will not be enough
and that results to slow development of a country. People should be properly distributed so that
they will get their basic needs without shortage and they will be considered as a skilled worker in
the future.

Subordination of women, for me, is the main reason why there is a problem in the
development of the country because men consider women as an inferior. They do not give much
trust in women that is why the skill of each and every women who is being disregarded was also
been left behind. They do not have the opportunity to showcase their talent and skills that is why
they can’t help in the development of the country but rather being left at home and do all the
household choirs.

On the other hand, although there are negative insights about population growth like,
slow economic growth, poverty and inequality, lack of education, health problems, lack of food
supply, environment, and international migration, it is still considered as a solution to other
countries like Vatican, Palau, Monaco, Iceland, Brunei, and many more.

Therefore, economic growth does not always depend on the high fertility of the country
but rather in the mind of everyone who wants to be recognized as a skilled individual who can
greatly help its own nation. The only thing that redeems mankind is cooperation. The problem
with humanity is that intelligent people are usually shy and antisocial meanwhile; dumb people
are full of confidence and famous. Humanity is lost because people have abandoned using their
own conscience as compass.
