S_DEVELOP

What it is ?
This is the general authorization object for ABAP Workbench objects.

You use it to grant access authorizations for all ABAP Workbench components. These include:

• ABAP development tools


• ABAP Dictionary and Data Modeler
• Screen Painter and Menu Painter
• Function Builder
• Repository Browser and Info System
• SAP Smart Forms

Object Fields
The object consists of five fields. The first four identify an object or function in the System. The fifth field lists
the operations that the user can perform on the objects.

The fields are as follows:

• Development class for transport system: Development class for which a user is authorized.
For a list of development classes, press F4 and then choose one from the list or display Table DEVC.
• Development object ID: Object types for which a user is authorized.
You can display a list of valid values and then choose one by pressing F4. Possible values for ABAP
Workbench object types are:
• APPLTREE: Application hierarchy (SAP/customer menu hierarchy)
• DEVC: Development classes (organizational unit for classifying development projects)
• DEBUG: Debugging (activity 01=system debugging, 02=replace in ABAP programs, 03=debugging
for ABAP programs)
• DIAL: Dialog modules
• FUGR: Function module groups
• LDBA: ABAP logical databases
• MENU: Area menus
• MSAG: Message ID and messages (message group)
• PARA: SET/GET parameters ("memory" parameters)
• PROG: Programs and associated objects (screens, GUI definitions, program text elements,
attributes and variants)
• SYST: Runtime analysis, SQL trace, debugging (apart from the REPLACE function (change value in
debugging mode)). No value in activity field is necessary for object type SYST.
• DEBUG: Debugging (only display and change)
• TRAN: Transaction (activity "Create")
• IASP: Internet service and parameters
• IARP: Internet service resource file
• IATU: HTML template
• SSFO: SAP Smart Forms
• SSST: SAP Smart Styles
Values for ABAP Dictionary object types:
• DOMA: Domains
• DTEL: Data elements
• ENQU: Lock objects
• INDX: Secondary indexes
• MCID: Matchcode IDs
• MCOB: Matchcode objects
• SQLT: Pooled/cluster tables
• STRU: Structures
• TABI: Table indexes
• TABL: Transparent tables
• TABT: Technical setting for table
• TYPE: Type groups
• VIEW: Views
Values for Data Modeler object types:
• UCLO: Data Modeler: Area
• UDMO: Data Modeler: Data model
• UENO: Data Modeler: Entity type
Value for Workflow:
• SOBJ: Workflow object types
• Node name: Name of the programs or other types of objects, for which the user has authorization
(also generic).
• Authorization group with ABAP programs: Valid authorization groups for ABAP programs and
associated objects. If you are not using your own authorization groups, you should set this field to
the value *.
• Activity: Operations that a user can perform.
Possible values:
• 01: Create (valid for all object types)
• 02: Change (valid for all object types)
• 03: Display (valid for all object types)
• 06: Delete (valid for all object types)
• 07: Activate (effective only with ABAP Dictionary object types)
• 40: Create object in database (effective only with object type TABT (database utility))
• 41: Delete object from database (effective only with object type TABT (database utility))
• 42: Convert object in database (effective only with object type TABT (database utility))
