I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will able to:
a. Describes the nature and background of the game PE7GS-Id-5
 State and discuss the meaning of chess
b. Identify the movement of each pieces
c. Apply the rules and moves by playing chess

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Chess
Values: Patience, Sportsmanship
Reference: MAPEH IV, a work text in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health, pp. 209-214
and Internet.
Materials: Chess board, and Laptop

C. Motivation

(The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups)

Class, I have here an envelope that contains cut
pictures. Each group will arrange the cut pictures to
form an image, and those images have something to
do with our new topic.

Class I am only giving you 3 minutes to finish your


activity.

D. Lesson Proper

Okay class; based on the pictures that you have


formed, what do you think is our topic for today? Sir, it’s about chess.

Who among you here plays chess? (some students raise their hands)

What is chess? It is an abstract strategy, board game, and


mental sport for two players.
(The teacher introduces the pieces and rules of the
game. The teacher shows the different pieces of chess
and asks about it.)
