Project Title: “One Jeep, One Trashcan”

Date and time: July 25, 2016 & August 2, 2016 Venue: Valencia Terminal Station

Rationale:

Garbage Disposal has been an unresolved problem in our society. We produce

tons of waste daily without disposing them properly and worse, only a few of our garbage
is being recycled.

A very good example of the irresponsibility of humans on garbage disposal is when

they throw their food wrappers on the streets while they are riding their vehicles or when
they are on public transport.

To address such problem, putting accessible trash bins on the vehicle will greatly
help commuters and at the same time keep the environment clean. As students who
commute every day and sometimes we munch on food while travelling home, we noticed
that most of public vehicles do not have trash bins.

It is a dilemma on our part, as commuters, to find garbage bins inside the vehicle
where we can dispose our trash. That is why some commuters throw their trash out of the
window an in the streets .

With this problem being identified, we thought of a project that, in little ways, can
help in maintaining cleanliness in our streets.

Objective:

This project aims to:

 Lessen the trashes thrown by commuters while travelling to and fro their
respective destinations;
 Promote the instalment of trash bins in public transportation; and
 Remind the community that we need to clean the surroundings the same
way we take care of ourselves.

Description:

The One Jeep, One trashcan aims to provide mini trash bins to the easy ride
vehicles going back and forth to Valencia. Aside from that, we will also post stickers on
selected public vehicles to raise awareness among commuters the importance of
cleanliness and disposing of trash properly.
We believe that this project will encourage commuters to throw them in the bins
inside the vehicle which is accessible to them.
