Resolution by the San Jacinto County Republican Party Executive Committee

and Proclamation by the Sheriff of San Jacinto County, Sheriff Greg Capers

Whereas; several Texas Counties have passed so called "Sanctuary County"


resolutions and San Jacinto County Republican Party understands that this will not
make itself a "sanctuary county" due to the many infringements that are already
in place and will continue to be enforced and;

Whereas; those resolutions were passed without context and they did not
identify any specific issue in which they would stand against such as red flag laws,
confiscation laws or universal background checks. Nor have they stated what they
would do in any real instance of such laws being passed. and;

Whereas; County Commissioners Courts have no authority over the County


Sheriff whatsoever - other than budgetary- and;

Whereas; the Texas County Sheriff is the last line of defense and the main
authority that stands between the people and an overreaching government in
protecting the citizens' rights, especially the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep
and bear arms and;

Whereas; democrats have made it clear that they want confiscation as proven by
former democrat presidential candidate Beta's comment, "hell yes we are going
to take their guns" and

Whereas; the Republican Party of Texas, the San Jacinto County Republican Party,
Republican grassroots and the vast majority of freedom loving Texans oppose
universal background checks as they are a de-facto gun registration and;

Whereas; the Republican Party of Texas, the San Jacinto County Republican Party,
Republican grassroots and the vast majority of freedom loving Texans oppose any
red flag laws that would confiscate a citizens firearms and infringe on a citizen's
right to keep and bear arms without being convicted of a crime or found to be a
danger to themselves or others through a psychological evaluation, according to
the process laid out in Chapter 573. Emergency Detention in the Health and
Safety Code, Title 7. Subtitle C Texas Mental Health code as of the passage of this
resolution and proclamation and;
