This paper will critically examine the impact of depression on the lives of

teenagers most specially to grade 10 and to grade 12 students of ABUNDIO AGARPAO SR.

MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL and analyze factors which lead to depressive behaviors.

significant factors; such as the family dynamics of teenagers and their social environments, and

their role in depression among teenagers will be discussed. One of the most influence

components in the life of a teenagers is his or her family, the quality of the relationship that the

teen maintain with the family will play a significant role, in the formulation of depressive

behaviors.

The impact of the society and the “self” must be examined to understand the

depressive tendencies among teenagers. Moreover, the proposal discusses the relevant theories

and research paper in the regard and presents possible limitation and outcomes.

Introduction

One of the most felling that can be affected individual’s bright future is depression.

It can kill you all through your emotions. According to Merriam Webster, depression is a serious

medical condition in which a person or a student feels very sad, hopeless, unimportant and often

is unable to live in a normal way. Nowadays more people enjoy their lives especially youngsters,

whereas some student were depressed, it is not because of their personal problem, but it is

because they got bullied in school having a broken relationship, and most of all having a family

problem. When we say depression it is talking about your future destination. It might cause

discouragement because of our pessimistic. Certainly to tatiohe problem that revolves around the

sorroundings. We can over this kind of situation by dedicating your to god, your burden to

surrender, because he will surely help. In times of trials and circumtances don’t forget call his

name and never let negativities carries your mind. Depression is a rampant situation of teenagers

now a days because of these many attempt suicide. Sometimes it may lead to health problems. It

is important to give attention to this cases especially to those students who experienced the said

problem. As a conclusion it is better to prevent this earlier and don’t strives the problem

seriously.

Statement of the Problem

We conduct a research for this problem to help and to give attention for

this case, and to understand the unique challenges that teenagers face; in this stage of

life,As a researchers our aim to investigate factors that lead teen agers to depression,

specifically this study seek to answer the following questions;

1.What are the kinds of depressions experienced by grade 10 and grade 12 students in

their teenage life?

2.What are the causes of depressions that they encounter?

3.How grade 10 and grade 12 students of AASMHS cope the depression they

experienced?

Scope and delimitation

This study is focusing only to all grade 10 and grade 12 or the

graduating students of Abundio Agarpao Sr. Memorial High School and aims to find out the

depression they experienced and the causes of the situations they suffer.

Significance of the study

Nowadays, the fact is that the teenage is a very confusing time for a

growing child, due to the changes occurring in his body and mind. Due to this confusion the

adolescent becomes insecure and prone to the dangers of falling in to depression. Depressed

teenagers are bound to act out and take part in unconstructive activities, whereas their academic

and social lives suffer adversely. Teenagers who fall into depression, and are not treated

adequately, may not be able to lead a healthy life style. They might form introvert tendencies and

their development of social skills will also suffer. The impact of depression in teenage years will

Theoretical Framework

Depression is apsychological vines that has the capability to poison our minds. The

range of depression reaches from alternation of feelings and continuously spread which leads to

suicidal thoughts. Depression is indeed a serious problem that should be given attention. People

who are suffering from depression are having a hard time to deal with it. They are being

manipulated by their feelings and emotion that made them think hard of what is wrong and right.

Depression kills a person, slowly. Nowadays, many teenagers were very prone to depression.

Even a person who have everything he she wanted could experience depression. Some people

who had undergone depression thinks that the only thing that can solve this is by committing

suicide, when in fact, it is curable. In gathered data, the questioner are formulated that contained

questions related to the study’s statement of the problem. The respondents had the same

questionnaires. Therefore, the survey was reliable and accurate because the respondents

answered the same questionnaires. Because of this, it became easy to analyze and interpret the

gathered data. The researchers found out that the most common factors among GRADE 10 and

GRADE 12 students is the ACADEMIC DEMANDS, where they stated that because of school

project, requirements as well as their school performances, they often experience stressed mood

and it could also lead them into depression. The researchers recommended the Grade 10 and

Grade 12 students not to overthink of all the problems they have been experiencing, it is better to

consult someone and express it by asking help, though this, they can avoid the feeling of being

depressed because they know themselves that there are people who were concerned about them
