Where in Europe is wild camping permitted ?

Italien: Wohnmobile und Caravan-Gespanne bis 12 m Länge können ungehindert einreisen. Eine
Genehmigung ist nach EU-Recht nicht erforderlich. In Italien darf man auf Autobahnparkplätzen eine
Nacht verbringen, Zelten hingegen ist verboten. Nicht einmal die Füße des Wohnwagens dürfen
ausgefahren werden. Auch an anderen Straßen ist das Übernachten gestattet, solange es nicht gegen eine
örtliche Verordnung verstößt.
Italy: Motorhomes and caravan teams up to 12 m in length can enter without hindrance. A permit is not
required under EU law. In Italy you can spend one night on motorway parking lots, but camping is
prohibited. Not even the feet of the caravan may be extended. Overnight stays are also permitted on other
roads as long as it does not violate any local regulations.
Italie: Les camping-cars et les équipes de caravanes jusqu'à 12 m de longueur peuvent entrer sans
entrave. Un permis n'est pas requis en vertu du droit de l'UE. En Italie, vous pouvez passer une nuit sur les
parkings autoroutiers, mais le camping est interdit. Même les pieds de la caravane ne peuvent être
étendus. Les séjours d'une nuit sont également autorisés sur d'autres routes aussi longtemps que cela ne
viole aucune réglementation locale.

Kroatien: Die Einreise mit Wohnmobilen und Caravan-Gespannen ist ungehindert erlaubt. Gespanne, die
breiter sind als 2,50 m, länger als 18 m oder höher als 4 m, dürfen in Kroatien nur mit Sondergenehmigung
fahren. Campern wird geraten, eine dreifache Liste über das wichtigste im Caravan bzw. Wohnmobil
befindliche Inventar mitzuführen und diese bei der Einreise vom Zoll bescheinigen zu lassen, um eine
reibungslose Wiederausreise zu sichern. Freies Campen ist in Kroatien nicht erlaubt.Die meisten der

2.50 m, longer than 18 m or higher than 4 m may only drive in Croatia with special permission. Campers
are advised to keep a triple list of the most important inventory in the caravan or RV and have them
certified at entry by Customs to ensure a smooth return journey.
Free camping is not allowed in Croatia. Most of the Croatian campsites are located on the Adriatic coast.

Niederlande: Übernachten am Rand der Straße und freies Campen ist in den Niederlanden nicht erlaubt.
Das Niederländische Büro für Touristik veröffentlicht eine Liste aller Campingplätze.Bei der Einreise mit
Wohnmobil ist eine Höhe von 4 m, eine Länge von 8 m erlaubt. Die Gespannlänge darf 18 m nicht
überschreiten. Bei einem Gewicht von 750 kg bis 3500 kg ist eine Auflaufbremse erforderlich.
Netherlands: Staying at the edge of the road and free camping is not allowed in the Netherlands. The
Dutch Tourism Bureau publishes a list of all campsites.If you are arriving by motorhome, the height is 4 m,
8 m long. The trailer length may not exceed 18 m. With a weight of 750 kg to 3500 kg a overrun brake is
required.
Pays-Bas: Rester au bord de la route et le camping gratuit n'est pas autorisé aux Pays-Bas. L'office du

im Fahrzeugschein eingetragene Anhängerlast nicht überschritten wird. An den Straßen ist Übernachten
erlaubt, solange kein Parkverbot gilt und nicht der Eindruck entsteht, dass Sie Campen. Von daher darf der
Wohnwagen auch nicht vom Fahrzeug abgekoppelt werden. Freies Campen ist nicht erlaubt. Wenn Sie in
den staatlichen Forsten frei zelten wollen, brauchen Sie die Genehmigung des örtlichen Bürgermeisters.
Austria: Entry with motorhomes and caravan margins is permitted without hindrance, as long as the
trailer load entered in the vehicle registration document is not exceeded. Staying on the streets is allowed
as long as there is no parking ban and you do not get the impression that you are camping. Therefore, the
caravan must not be disconnected from the vehicle. Free camping is not allowed. If you want to camp
freely in the state forests, you need the permission of the local mayor.
Autriche: L'accès aux camping-cars et aux caravanes est autorisé sans entrave, tant que la charge de la
remorque inscrite sur le document d'immatriculation du véhicule n'est pas dépassée. Rester dans la rue est
autorisé tant qu'il n'y a pas d'interdiction de stationnement et que vous n'avez pas l'impression de camper.
Par conséquent, la caravane ne doit pas être déconnectée du véhicule. Le camping gratuit n'est pas
autorisé. Si vous voulez camper librement dans les forêts domaniales, vous avez besoin de la permission
du maire local.
