thanks!
They hear appeals from institutions on disputed facts and the proper application ofthe regulations and law.
Theyhave a lot of discretion to resolve those issues, limited by a regulation that says they cannot override or nullify a
regulatory requirement. Decisions from the hearing official are subject to appeal by either party to the Secretary. If a
decision from a hearing official is not appealed, it becomes the final decision ofthe agency.
See 34 eFR part 668, Subpart G and Subpart H. Decisions from the hearing officials and from the Secretary can be
viewed at http://www.ed-oha.org/
I got a call from Pauline Abernathy asking about hearing officials. Who are ~hey, how are they selected, how much
discretion do they have to adjudicate proceedings, etc. Anything you can provide would be helpful. Thanks. jk
What's up?

What page (web address) should the "Analysis, additional data" link on the gainful
employment press release go to?
It is *possible* that if someone were to send me the URL of the page it should link to,
someone on my team might be able to make the change from home this evening, or tomorrow
morning.

That's the problem--thats what I'm looking for and can't find. Davidb would know~ Don't
know who else.
Thanks) Pauline. The 3 links in the (in the Related Resources box on the press release on
the web) go to 3 different pages.
I'm pretty sure the 1st and 3rd links go to the correct pages~ I am not sure that the 2nd
link-- "Analysis 1 additional data" --goes to the correct page. It goes to a page called
"Negotiated Rulemaking for Higher Education 2009-10 - Team I-Program Integrity Issues."

I'd be happy to try to get that link changed if someone could tell me where it should go~
but ...
Kirk
Jane called and I explained that two of the three links in the box went to the same place and
not to the data analysis. She was going to.email david b. I'm not at my desk now so don't
know if its been fixed. Pauline

Looping Jim Bradshaw and Kirk. Can you guy make sure the link from our emailed out press
release intended to take folks to the colored chart is working correctly?
I see the link to the additional GE analysis and data but it takes me to the Program
Integrity page where I don't see any new data posted. Is the link correct or am I missing
it? Thanks! .
