Mother a ticket to Jannah

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to the chairperson, honourable judges,

the time keeper, teachers, my beloved competitors and attentive listeners. It is good to
see that almost eyes and ears are focused on me, waiting to listen what I am going to
deliver today.

The Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) said: “Your Heaven lies under the feet of your
mother”. With that , let me begin my speech entitled “Mother a Ticket to Jannah”.
Have you got a mother? Someone who gave birth to you? Someone who love you
unconditionally? Someone who cares for you? Of course, you have. It’s her, whom
we call a M.O.T.H.E.R , mother.

Ladies and gentleman,

Mother is a person who is giving birth to the children and also a woman in relation to
her child or children. But bear in mind, it’s only all about birth-mother. It is
exceptionally special to call our breastfeeding mother or our step-mother, as our
mother as well. You may have a mother, but for some special reasons, other people
might have more than 1 mother.

How come this special person becomes a “ticket” to Jannah? Let me enlighten you
with the topic. A ticket means symbolic like a piece of paper or a card that gives the
holder a certain right, especially to enter place. And jannah means a place regarded in
various religion as the abode of god and the angels and of the good after death often
traditionally depicted as being above the sky. (resources)

Ladies and gentleman,

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) once said, “ Paradise
is at the feet of the mother.” This is variously interpreted to mean that the mother is
responsible for teaching her children their religious obligations and good behavior
that will win them Paradise; or it may mean that we earn Paradise by serving our
mother throughout her life. Either way, it shows the great esteem, honor and respect
that Islam has for mothers.

Ladies and gentleman,

In the hadith for example, the Prophet Muhammad actually speaks of the importance of
respecting and honouring our mothers, even more so than our fathers:

‫َّللاِ َم ْن أَ َح ُّق‬
َّ ‫سو َل‬ ُ ‫س َّل َم َف َقا َل َيا َر‬ َّ ‫صلَّى‬
َ ‫َّللاُ َع َل ْي ِه َو‬ َ ِ‫َّللا‬ َّ ‫سو ِل‬ ُ ‫َّللاُ َع ْنهُ قَا َل َجا َء َر ُج ٌل ِإلَى َر‬
َّ ‫ي‬َ ‫ض‬ِ ‫َع ْن أ َ ِبي ه َُري َْرة َ َر‬
َ ُ ُ ُ ُ ُ ُ ُ ُ ُ
َ‫ص َحابَتِي قَا َل أ ُّمكَ قَا َل ث َّم َم ْن قَا َل ث َّم أ ُّمكَ قَا َل ث َّم َم ْن قَا َل ث َّم أ ُّمكَ قَا َل ث َّم َم ْن قَا َل ث َّم أبُوك‬
َ ‫اس بِ ُحس ِْن‬ِ َّ‫الن‬

Which means,

A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is
the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet (PBUH) said: Your mother.
The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further
asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then
who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim)
No matter what a man does he will never be able to have the status of a mother. And yet,
even when God honors us with something uniquely feminine, we are too busy trying to
find our worth in reference to men to value it — or even notice. How valuable a creature
called mother.

My respected audience,
There are many ways that we can make our mother happy.It can sometimes be
hard to think of ways to make our mother happy beyond the obvious things such as
flowers and gifts. While these things are nice, and most mothers would not turn them
down, there are many other ways we can show our mother that we care about her.
Happiness is a very personal thing and varies dramatically from person to person, so
we may need to experiment with several of these techniques before we find what
makes our own mother the happiest.

Members of the floor,

The first way is we can show our mother that we care about her. One way
to make someone feel valued is to show interest in them: who they are, what
they’ve experienced, and what they think about . We don’t need to burn our
pocket to give her wealth but it is enough for her if we show that we care about
her like taking good care of her once he fall sick. Asking your mother about her
life will offer you the chance to connect with her, and will make her feel happy
that you’re interested in what she has to say. This action will make our mother
happy and soon give us a valuable ticket that leads us to jannah.

Ladies and gentleman,

Instead of that way, we also can ask our mother how she’s feeling. Mothers
are just like anyone else: they need people to talk to. Asking your mothers how
she’s feeling shows that you’re paying attention to her and that you care about
her happiness; that will probably make her very happy. When we make her
smile then the valuable ticket will wait for us in the here after. She feels happy
then the better place will be provided for us later. Amen. Everybody wishes to
have this opportunity since the permanent life is there. Here in this world we
just stop for a while and prepare ourselves to equip us the better home in jannah.
Therefore this is the best way for us to make our mothers the happiest creature
since her du’a will always can be true.

My respected audience,
We can also seek for her forgiveness once we make something wrong that
can ruin her heart feeling. Sometimes it’s really hard to apologize to your
mothers, especially if you feel like she’s on your case a lot. However,
apologizing when you’re wrong and taking responsibility for your actions will
strengthen your relationship and make your mother feels loved. Remember
once your mother smile happily then you just add another ticket for you to
reach the jannah.

Ladies and gentleman,

Remember, our mother’s bless is the most important ticket to enter Jannah.
Serve our mother well and insyaALLAH, the Jannah will be ours. Well then, I
arrived at the end of my speech and thus thank all for lending your ears. Thank
