A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary
Philippine literature as a means of responding to the demands of
the global village; various extended text types; lexical and
contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and
behavior; and use of imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh-
questions.

B. Performance Standard The learner transfers learning by: explaining the need to be
cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using
appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using
lexical and contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and
expressions; using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and
polite oral language, stance and behavior in various information-
sharing formats.

C. Abstraction Pick Me: There are lists of words posted on the board. The
students will ask to choose one word that they will use in
formulating WH-questions.

D. Application GROUP ACTIVITY


Directions: The students will be grouped into 5. They will ask to
formulate atleast 5 WH-questions based from the picture
assigned to them. Output will be presented in front of the class.

 It provides the information about who are involved in the contest, what is the contest all about, when and
where it will be held and other things needed in the contest.

3. How to formulate WH questions?


 WH + an auxiliary verb (be, do or have) + subject + main verb or WH + a modal verb + subject + main verb:

 Why do you sleep early?
