If ambient temperature and relative humidity are not within the range, air-conditioning should be applied.
Avoid installation in a place where the instrument may be in extremely high or low temperature.
Avoid installation in a place where the instrument may be exposed to direct sunlight.
Install in a well-ventilated place.
Avoid installation in a place where instrument may be exposed to radio interference such as personal
computer, centrifuge separator, wireless radios and communication facility.

(2) When below screen (product key) appears, enter appropriate values.
(4) When below screen appears, enter “sysmex” and click Next.
(8) When below screen appears, enter “c, 9, ., 0” in the “Type a new password” and enter “c, 9, .,
0” in the “Type the new password again to confirm”. Click Create Password.
(2) When below screen appears, click “Change the way Security Center alerts me”.
(2) When below screen appears, select Taskbar and Start Menu.
(4) When below screen appears, right-click Local Area Connection and select properties.
NOTE:
This installation must be performed after logon to windows as “Sysmex” and password as
“c9.0”.
When IPU program is running, quit the IPU program by selecting file ( Exit. When confirmation
screen appears, click OK.
(2) Turn the lock to CCW and open the right side cover.
(14) Remove CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive. Run IPU program by selecting Start All Pro-
grams Startup IPU. Log off IPU and log on IPU with User name: sysmex and Password:
“c”, “9”, “.”, “0”.
(15) Turn on main unit and select option as shown when below screen appears.
(16) When main unit indicator located lower left become green, run Setting sequence by selecting
Controller Service Setting Sequence. It takes approximately 24 minutes.
(17) When Setting Sequence runs, pointer becomes hourglass other menu could not be selected.
When Setting Sequence completes, the hourglass becomes normal pointer.
(19) Copy XS-1000i^XXXXX.CAL (XXXXX stands for S/N) in the CD-ROM onto C:\Program
Files\Sysmex\IPU\ORG_INI\XS-1000i^XXXXX.CAL with overwriting it.
(20) Restart the IPU program and run e-CHECK to confirm the data is within the assay value sheet.
NOTE:
This uninstallation must be performed after logon to windows as “Sysmex”
and password as “c9.0”.
When IPU program is running, quit the IPU program by selecting file Exit.
When confirmation screen appears, click OK.
When uninstalltion is performed, all files including setting files will be deleted.
(5) When below screen appears, click Execute. (When Database is needed to be deleted, mark
Remove Database Files.)
NOTE:
When Database is deleted, all information such as stored data and history
will be deleted.
(2) Detach “Position Setting Data” sheet from the inside of the sampler.
(The sheet will be used in B.8 Sampler Adjustment at Installation.)
(8) Unlock right side cover lock with a slot head screwdriver.
(9) Remove upper cover by loosening two fixing screws (M3X6).
(11) Remove front cover by loosening two fixing screws on the right and three fixing screws on the
left.
(12) Disconnect wiring cord on the innner of the front cover.
(16) Place the OPSU-11 Base Assy for connecting XS-1000i main unit and sampler.
(24) Open sampler cover and fix the three fixing screws (M4)
(26) Affix main unit chassis and OPSU-11 Base Assy with screw M4X6 (348-3926-8)

(4) Select Controller Service Tube Holder Adjustment Pulse Entry and enter values and
enter values on Position Setting Data.

Preparations
1. XS Program Disk Version 00-17 or higher
2. Computer
a. CPU Celeron 2.0 GHz or higher
b. Memory: 1.0 GB (DDR2 or higher)
c. Mother Board with following interface
RS232C Interface x 2 or more
Printer Board (LPT:25PIN)

i. Windows should be set as follows:
1. License ID for Windows 7 should be certified.
2. Default Setting should be done as follows:
User name: sysmex
Password: c9.0
Computer Name: IPU
Secured Computer (Valid/Invalid): Invalid
5. When “Local Security Policy” appears, click “Local Policies” - “Security Options” on the left, then
double-click “Accounts: Administrator account status” on the right.
6. When “Accounts: Administrator account status properties” appears, tick [Enable] and click “OK.”
8. When “Interactive logon: Do not display last user name Properties” appears, tick [Enable] and
click “OK.”
7. When “Change Settings” appears, select “Never check for update (not recommended)”, then
click “OK”
11. When “Customize Setting” appears, tick “Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)” on
Private network and Public network, then click “OK.”
20. When”Windows Defender Properties” appears, press “▼” on the right side of “Startup type” and
select “Disabled.”
25. When Local Group Policy Editor” screen appears, click “Administrative Templates” - “Windows
Components” - “Application Compatibility” on the left, then double-click “Turn off Program
Compatibility Assistant.”
5. When “Edit Plan Settings” appears, Change “Turn off the display” and “Put the computer to
sleep” to “Never”, then click “Change advanced power setting.”
4. When “Task bar and Start Menu Properties” appears, click “Task bar” tab, and tick “Auto-hide the
task bar.”
6. When “Personalization” appears, change to “Basic and High Contrast Themes” - “Windows
Classic
2. When “Screen Resolution “appears, change “Resolution” to “1024 x 768”, then click OK.
3. When “Clock, Language, and Region” appears, click “Region and Language”
5. When “Regional and Language Setting” appears, change “Current system locale” to destination
locale, then click “OK.”
9. When “Language Changer” appears, select “Language” (displaying language), then click “OK.”

13. When “Install/VErsion Up” appears as shown in figure below, click “Close.”
6. When “Choose a printer port” appears, tick “Use an existing port”, select “LPT1:(Printer Port)” in
Combo-box, then click “Next.”
7. When “Install the printer driver” appears, click “Have Disk...” button..
9. When “Locate Files” appears, double click “CD-ROM” - “DP DRIVER” - “LEGACY DP SETUP” -
“OEMPRINT.INF.”
10. Click “OK” in “Install From Disk.”
11. When “Install the printer driver” appears, click “SYSMEX NP-517K-PAI” then click “Next” button.
12. When “Type a printer name” appears, confirm that “SYSMEX NP-517-PAI” is displayed in
“Printer Name”, then click “Next” button.
14. When “Printer Sharing” appears, tick “Do not share this printer” then click “Next.”
15. When “You’ve successfully added SYSMEX NP-517K-PAI” appears, click “Finish” button.
11. Click “EPSON TM-U295” in “Install the printer driver”, click “Next” button.
13. When “Windows Security” appears, click “Install this driver software anyway.”
14. When “Printer Sharing” appears, tick “Do not share this printer”, click “Next” button.
15. Confirm “You’ve successfully added EPSON TM-U295” is displayed, untick “Set as the default
printer”, then click “Finish” button.
5. When “SYSMEX NP-517K-PAI Properties” appears, click “Advanced” tab, tick off “Printer
directly to the printer” then click “OK” button.

4. When “Task bar and Start Menu Properties” appears, click “Task bar” tab, tick “Auto-hide the task
bar”, then click “OK” button.
6. When Personalization” appears, change to “Windows Classic” in “Basic and High Contrast
Themes.”
5. When “Change Action Center Setting” appears, untick all checks and click “OK” button.
6. Close all opened windows.
3. Right-click on the Windows task bar, click “Task Manager” from menu.
4. When “Windows Task Manager” appears, click “Users” tab, confirm that there’re only “XS” in
“Users” (Confirm that enabling to automatically logon with XS user)
5. Click “Process” tab and confirm “IPU.exe” and “Qremoteprt.exe” exist in “Image Name” (Confirm
they are registered in start-up menu)
6. Close “Windows Task Manager” after confirmation.
7. Click “File” - “Exit”, then click OK to end.
NOTE:
Parts No. 5 through 15 are assembled as shown below.

Original grommet has no opening. Make an opening at the center of original grommet.
4) Insert the pins (at the free ends of sensor wiring cord) into the supplied connector. Do not worry
about the pin assignments.
Ensure that the pins are inserted in the connector after step 3). Otherwise the pins are not
disconnected from the connector, and the connector does not pass through the P1 port.
5) Find the wiring cord marked with "F4". Connect the connector prepared at step 4).
10) Connect between the sensor assembly nipple and the drain outlet nipple on the XS Main Unit rear
panel using the supplied polyurethane tube (9 mm OD x 6 mm ID). Cut the tube to the appropriate
length as needed.
