DIVERSITY ON SOCIETY The culturalism assumes that cultures are composed of individuals which share the exceptional same set of assumptions and are involved in the very same life state. These beliefs and life state were being completely different for those other cultures. Thus, the individuals in a culture are shaped through and through by that culture which is why they are hard to understand other cultures. Since culturalism is basically the idea of having a same mindset and belief, then what are the importance of having this concept? Participating in culture can benefit individuals in many different ways, some of which are deeply personal. They are a source of delight and wonder, and can provide emotionally and intellectually moving experiences, whether pleasurable or unsettling, that encourage celebration or contemplation. Culture is also a means of expressing creativity, forging an individual identity, and enhancing or preserving a community’s sense of place. Cultural experiences are opportunities for leisure, entertainment, learning, and sharing experiences with others. From museums to theatres to dance studios to public libraries, culture brings people together. These benefits are natural to culture, they are what attracts us and why we participate. Culture has great importance. Culture is the identity of the nation; without culture the society is impossible and also the basic root of any community which gives them the ways of life. The culture provides solution to the critical problem that is faced to community. Culture teach us to think for the whole nation not individually, it provides the concept of family, nation building and unity. Since culture has defined as a vital role in the progress of society, what will be the opposition of these importance? Diversity. Having different beliefs and way of life individuals who has their own culture can’t easily understand the others because they are stuck on their own mindset that their beliefs is acceptable and not the other. Cultural diversity is important because our country, workplaces, and schools increasingly consist of various cultural, racial, and ethnic groups. We can learn from one another, but first we must have a level of understanding about each other in order to facilitate collaboration and cooperation. Learning about other cultures helps us understand different perspectives within the world in which we live, and helps dispel negative stereotypes and personal biases about different groups. In addition, cultural diversity helps us recognize and respect ways of being that are not necessarily our own, so that as we interact with others, we can build bridges to trust, respect, and understanding across cultures. Furthermore, this diversity makes our country a more interesting place to live, as people from diverse cultures contribute language skills, new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and different experiences.
