#1 Hping2 : A network probing u tility like ping on steroids

T his handy little u t ility assembles and sends cu stom ICMP, UDP, or
T CP packets and then displays any replies. It was inspired by the ping command,
bu t offers far more control over the probes sent. It also has a handy tracerou te
mode and su pports IP fragmentation. T his tool is particu larly u sefu l when t rying
to tracerou te/ping/probe hosts behind a firewall that blocks attempts u sing the

Scapy is a powerfu l interactive packet manipu lation tool, packet generator,

to interactively create packets or sets of packets, manipu late them, send them
over the wire, sniff other packets from the wire, match answers and replies, and
more. Interaction is provided by the Python interpreter, so Python programming
