DEDICATION
Sarvaroopmayi devi sarv devimayA jagat.
Atoaham vishvaroopam tam namami parmeshvareem..
at the home of Pt. Ravi Datt Gaur whose father Pt. Durga Das
Gaur was a renowned astrologer. The mother of Dr. J.P. Gaur
Mrs Vijai Rani Gaur was a learned and religious lady. By the grace
of God Dr. Gaur inherited good values from his mother and knowledge of astrology
from his grand father at a very early age. He continued work of astrology along with
college studies using his intelligence, patience and determination and graduated from
Punjab University. In 1977 he passed Prabhakar from Punjabi University. At present
he is residing and practicing astrology at Jagraon, Distt. Ludhiana. His knowledge of
religion, devotion to God and dedication for astrology has impressed people of Jagraon
and surrounding areas very much. By God's grace Dr. Gaur came in contact with
renowned astrologer Shri Manik Chand Jain who imparted knowledge of various
spheres of astrology to Dr. Gaur between 1976 to 1982. Dr. Gaur established
Jagdamba Astrological Research Centre at Jagraon in 1980 that was recognized
later by Punjab Government. In 1991 he participated in the first conference of Future
Point and visited Maldive, Canada and U.S.A. between 1992 to 1998. He served a
large number of people by astrology and earned aclaim. Then he started writing on
astrological subjects. His articles on mundane astrology and serial 'Planetary Positions
and Trade' are regular features of Future Samachar. People acknowledge his mastery
of ashtakvarg. Dozens of Astrological conferences have awarded him degrees like
Jyotish Samrat, Jyotish Marmagya, Jyotish Shiromani etc. The International Council

Astrological Science and All India Federation of Astrologers' Societies has awarded
Jyotish Mahamahopadhyay to Dr. Gaur. He is governor of Punjab region of All India
Federation of Astrologers' Societies and Chairman of it's Ludhiana Chapter.
This book is before you. I hope it's deeply researched contents and lucid style
will be useful for readers. This book is bound to be a milestone in the field of mundane
astrology.

and remains visible. During night he travels in dark space and inspects worlds after
keeping gods and humans busy in their work. A slight deviation in his administration
causes lawlessness, turmoils, excessive rains, less rains, drought, landslide,
earthquake etc there is uproar and distress everywhere. These words indicate that
and There is definitely some relationship between planets, stars & good-bad events
taking place in the world.
Mundane Astrology is a branch of astrology where good-bad results and events of
villages, cities, provinces, countries, health of people, financial, social and political
situations, things, weather, earthquakes, winds-storms, natural calamities, contagious
diseases, relationships of nations, crops etc are analysed.
The financial, social and political situation of a country or province is sometimes very
stable and sometimes it is totally fluid. The growth of a plant is not always the same
although the land, seeds, fertilizer, water etc are same. During one year the production
is sufficient while in another year it is poor in spite of good inputs. On one part of earth
there are natural calamities, agonies, turmoils. At the same time at another part there
is peace and progress. These phenomenons indicate that there in definitely some
reason behind this mystery that at one place there is prosperity at one time but all of a
sudden it is engulfed by strife. During one year the rains are heavy causing floods but
in next year there is drought. Occasionally a commodity becomes expensive all of a
sudden and sometimes it's prices remain low for a long time. The knowledge of all
these matters is obtained from Mundane Astrology.
As there are elections on earth for selection of prime minister etc for establishment of
a democratic government and qualifications abilities of elected persons influence the
areas ruled by them, in the same manner every year a celestial council is formed by
planets to run the world. In celestial council apart from king and minister there are 10
lords of 4 months crop, winter crops, weather and rains, juices, trades, metals, treasure,
security and fruits-flowers. I have written this book after going through books compiled
by great scholars who were capable of knowing the happenings of 3 worlds such as
Garg Samhita, Vrihatsamhita, Varahisamhita, Narpatirjayach, Savatsari Paddhati,
Varshprabodh, Ardhmartand, Ardhprakash etc.

In ancient literature, astrology is divided in 3 parts - Mathematics (Sidhanta), Science
of time (Hora) and Mundane Astrology (Samhita).
Triskandh jyotishamshastra chtularkshmudahrivam.
Ganitam jatakam vipra sanhita skandh sankshitam..
In mathematics, there are methods to calculate longitude etc of planets and ascendant
by addition, subtraction, multiplication, square etc.
In hora, there is analysis of good-bad events in the life of a person. The book that
contains all subjects of astrology is samhita. In samhitas, ancient scholars such as
Brahmagupt, Bhattotpal, Bhaskaracharya, Aryabhatt, Varahmihir etc have described
in details the effects of celestial happenings and rain etc on earth. In today's world,
due to development of sciences and computers the calculation processes have become
quite complicated. Therefore today's astrologers prefer to learn only predictive astrology.
However without knowledge of ancient branches of astrology, the knowledge of
predictive astrology is indeed incomplete. The present book that has been written by
Dr. Jagdamba Prasad Gaur and published by All India Federation of Astrologers'
Societies on mundane astrology will go a long way in guiding the students of present
age.
This book has been divided in 5 parts. i. Samvatsar Analysis, ii. National - International
Events, iii. Weather iv. Crops and v. High-Low prices Analysis.
In this book, the national astrology has been discussed by imagining India in the shape
of a tortoise and thereby methods for forecasts of states and provinces of those days
have been described in a simple language. The 12 houses of mundane astrology
have also been evaluated that are very useful for students. Apart from it results of
eclipses in 12 months are present in this book.
Astrologers' Societies both dererve compliments. My best wishes are with them.

SPECIAL HOROSCOPES
1. Method of Preparation of Ascendant Horoscope of the World
Future Point
In the new year when Sun enters Aries (Aries Ingress), the horoscope prepared on the
basis of it's time as ascendant is called Universal Horoscope. The good-bad events
of the world are analyzed on the basis of this horoscope.
If in ascendant of this horoscope, there are benefic planets or ascendant is aspected
by benefics then crops of all things are good.
The twelve houses of universal horoscope indicate 12 Phalgun
Vaishakh
months of samvat as is depicted in illustrated horoscope.

6. Virgo :
The situation is normal in Eastern states. Ghee prices are high. In South, there is
drought. There is revolt in Easterm states. The West witnesses riots and grains are
expensive. The North-Eastern provinces experience riots. In middle provinces the ghee
is cheap, people are dissatisfied and democracy is dissolved.
Future Point
7. Libra:
There is unrest in people in middle provinces and government is dissolved. In East too
the administration is disbanded and riots spread widely. The rains are less. The strong
winds cause losses. There is drought. In West, there could be war in two states. Goods
are costly. The South witnesses prosperity but there could be rebellion for two months
in West.
8. Scorpio :
There is drought for nine months in West. In North the crops yield is half, the metals are
cheap. In East the rulers have acrimony, people suffer for 3 months but later on live
comfortably. In middle provinces the crops of grains are destroyed. In South, the rains
are more. The government is changed. The metals are profitable.
9. Sagittarius:
There is prosperity in North-East. The middle provinces suffer due to floods etc. There
is danger of drought and diseases. In West, the grains and ghee are expensive. There
is prosperity in South, but cattles suffer.
10. Capricorn :
There is loss of lives and wealth due to natural calamities in North. In West, the crops
are good and life is comfortable. In middle provinces the crops are poor and grains
costly. There are rains after a spell of drought. The areas of other directions have
normal life.
11. Aquarius :
There is prosperity in East while the North suffers due to drought. The people in West
remain dissatisfied due to high prices. There is violence in South but middle provinces
have prosperity.
12. Pisces:

provinces the crops are damaged. In other directions life is comfortable and affluent.
34
4. Samvat Stambha
The existence of entire world is dependent on Water, Air, Grains and Herbal planets.
The good-bad results of an year also depend on these elements and so are the well
being of human beings and advancement of a nation. Each samvat has four stambhas:
I. Jal Stambha (Water Column)
Future Point
35
03.13 hrs.
Therefore Revti was in Pratipada for only 2 hours 22 minutes = 142 minutes. This is
9% of total duration of 1562 minutes.
Therefore Jal Stambha is 9% Similarly percentages of other stambhas are determined.
Future Point
An year comprising of all 4 stambhas is lucky and prosperous. An year, devoid of all
stambhas is unlucky and painful.
Suppose in any samvat there are only Trin stambha and Anna stambha. Therefore the
result for that year will be medium. In that samvat there will be sufficient Grasses,
medicinal plants and grains will be available at proper time. However absence of Jal
Stambha and Vayu stambha will result in lack of rains. Therefore above mentioned
good results will be only medium and two stambhas present in the year will not be able
to render full benefic results.

4. When female and eunuch planets are in one nadi, there is danger of hail storm.
5. When malefics and benefics are together in Heaven nadi, the rains are heavy.
6. When malefics are in Heaven nadi and benefics in Earth, there are rains.
Future Point
7. The malefics in Heaven nadi and benefics in Patal indicate scarcity of rains.
8. There are no rains when malefics are in Patal nadi and benefics in Heaven nadi.
Constellation Number Indication Chart
In Constellation Number Indication Chart the 27 constellations are counted as Female,
Male and Eunuch. Some constellations belong to Sun and others to Moon.
Constellations of Sun: Rohini, Mrigshira, Poorvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni, Hast,
Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradhya, Jyeshtha, Mool, Shatbhisha and
Poorvabhadrapad.
Constellations of Moon: Ashwini, Bharani, Krithika, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya,
Ashlesha, Magha, Poorvashadh, Uttarashadh, Shravan, Dhanishtha, Uttarabhadrapad
and Revti.
Prediction of Weather etc. by Above
When both constellations are Sun, Sun: The air will flow.
When both are Moon, Moon : No rains
When Sun, Moon : There are rains
Example : Suppose Sun is on Punarvasu and Moon on Mrigshira. According to formula
explained above Sun is in Moon's constellation and Moon on Sun's constellation.
Therefore there will be rains. Similarly by the gender of constellations the rains are
predicted.
Male Constellations: Ashwini, Bharani, Krithika, Rohini, Mrigshira, Mool,
Poorvashadh, Uttarashadh, Shravan, Dhanishtha, Shatbhisha, Poorvabhadrapad,
Uttarabhadrapad, Revti.
Females : Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Poorvaphalguni,
Uttaraphalguni, Hast, Chitra, Swati.
Eunuchs : Vishakha, Anuradha, Jyeshtha.
Result : The results of constellations of Sun and Moon and their genders are as below:
56
1. If both planets are in male constellations (male, male) : The sky remains clear.
2. Female - Female : The air flow is good or sky is clouded.
3. Female - Male : Good rains.
4. Eunuch- Eunuch : The air flow is good, the temperature is high.

1. If in Chanda nadi there are two or more malefic planets there are winds and storms
and if benefics are present there are strong winds.
2. In Vayu nadi, 2 or more planets: The air flows with high velocity.
3. In Dahan nadi, 2 or more planets: Many incidents of fires on earth.
4. Saumya nadi, 2 or more planets: Lucky.
5. Neera, 2 or more planets : Light rains.
6. Jala : Excessive rains.
7. Amrita : Good rains.
The planets also render results in their nadi according to the nadi lord. For example
Moon the lord of Amrita when present in Amrita is highly benefic. In this way planets
give their results when they arrive in their nadi. The planets render results according to
the nadi of their residence.
1. If Moon is present on one constellation out of 4 constellations of a nadi and cruel
and gentle planets are also present on that constellation, there will be rains on that
day.
2. If cruel and gentle planets are present on a constellation. Till the time these have
longitudinal combination with Moon (The degree of planets and Moon are same),
there will be heavy rains.
58
3. If a Nadi has only gentle or only cruel planets and Moon is also present on that
Nadi, there will be light rains or there will be clouds in the sky.
4. If the lord of a nadi is present in that nadi and weak Moon is also present, there will
be rains.
5. If there are gentle and cruel planets present in Amrita nadi and lord of this nadi
Future Point
Moon is also present then within 1,3 or 7 days there will be rains twice, four times
or five times. Similarly in Jala if Moon is present along with gentle and cruel planets
then there will be rains upto 36 or 72 hours. It means that when in one constellation
Moon and planets are together, there will be rains till Moon is in degrees of planets.
The Results of Presence of Planets in a Nadi Based on their Genders
When there is Vedha (obstruction) of a nadi by
i. 2 Male planets : Air will flow in all directions.
ii. 1 Male - 1 Female : There will be rains.
iii. 2 Eunuchs : There will be dust storm.
Important Note : Since rains at one time are less at one place, more at another and
nil at some other place therefore find the status of constellations for a particular place,
province etc. and look for the constellation at the Saptam Nadi chart and find Nadi. By
the rules described above, the rains etc for that city can be predicted.
Example : We can predict about rains etc. by Sapt nadi Chart as follows.
Suppose Jupiter and Venus both gentle planets are in Neera respectively in Punarvasu
and Uttarashadh. In this way there is Vedha (obstruction) of Neera. Its result is light
rains.
Now if Moon too comes in Neera by arriving in Poorvabhadrapad then 2 gentle planets
and Moon are in one nadi. Its result is light rains or clouds in sky. Additionally result of
vedha by male and female planets is rains. On the basis of all this it can be assumed
that at that time or day there will be rains but it will be light.

According to Indian Mundane Astrology normally there are rains in winter only after 12
December. On the basis of it the rains in rainy season begin with this date. Suppose
the rain began in Ludhiana in winter on 7th December. According to rain table the
rains will come in summer on 30th June.
Similarly suppose there were rains in Delhi in winter on 4th February, then according
to the table it will occur on 18th August. If there were rains in Jaipur in winter on 12th
March, according to table rains will be in Jaipur on 23rd September.
Rain Barriers Chart
Sun remains in Rohini approximately since 25th May to 6th June i.e. for 13 days. In
Rain Barriers chart the rainless days are mentioned according to dates of Sun's stay
in Rohini.

Day 72 50 45 42 39 34 21 30 28 24 21 16 12
In the chart, below 25th May is written 72. It means that if on 25th May there were light
rains at one place then for 72 days ahead these will be hurdles in rain. However if on
25th May there were good rains then there will be good rains after a break of 72 days.
If during Sun's stay in Rohini (15th May to 5th June) the weather is very hot then rains
ahead will be good. If winds are strong, the rulers will have conflicts.
If there is thunder lightning then rains will be less but if this happens for many days, it is
regarded as lucky.
If there are clouds in sky, rains ahead will be less.
Light rains also indicate less rains ahead.
ii. During Sun's stay in Mrigshira if wind speed is high then it is lucky. If there are no
winds then rains will be less and delayed.

iii. If in the month of Paush there are clouds from Mool to Bharni then in the rainy
season ahead there will be rains during Sun's stay in Ardra to Vishakha.

13. When a planet rises or is combusted and receives aspect of Jupiter, there are
rains.
14. The relationship of Venus and Saturn in one sign gives less rains.
15. When cruel planets change their motion from retrograde to direct and when Jupiter
changes to retrograde motion it is good for rains.
Future Point
16. When cruel planets have a high speed (Atichari), they bring less rains, when gentle
planets are retrograde, they bring rains.
17. When Jupiter is in Leo, Virgo or Libra and two or more planets are present in its
11th house, there are heavy rains.
18. When Mars is in 7th house from Venus and Jupiter is in 7th house from Saturn,
there are annihilating, catastrophic rains.
19. When cruel planets (Sun, Mars and Saturn) and gentle planets (Moon, Mercury,
Jupiter, Venus) are in 7th house to each other, there will be catastrophic rains.
20. When Venus is combusted, Jupiter is rising, Mars and Saturn have high speed,
there will be rains.
Signs of Rains :
If in evening there are clouds in East and one cloud is like a mountain, one is like an
elephant or like a white elephant etc. there will be rains soon within 5 nights.
If above shaped clouds are seen in North in evening, there will be sufficient rains for
three days. If similar shaped clouds are seen in West in evening, there will be rains
soon. If there are heavy clouds in South creating dark sky, there will be some rain
within three nights.
If there are clouds in South- East, there will be more heat and less rains.
If there are clouds in South-West, the rains cause agony and diseases.
If there are clouds at high altitude in North-West, the rains will arrive soon.
If there are clouds in North-East, there are uninterrupted rains.
If there are strong winds from South and wind from West is also present, there will be
rains soon. The winds from East indicate early rains.
If during the Sun's entry in rainy season constellations such as Ardra etc, the lagna
(ascendant) is in watery signs such as Aquarius, Cancer, Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio
then there will be rains in rainy season.

planets then summer crops are good. The grains of summer (wheat, barley, gram,
pulses) are cheap.
When Sun is in Taurus and there are benefic planets in quadrants (1-4-7-10) to
Sun or Sun in Taurus is aspected by strong and benefic planets then winter crops
are good. The winter grains moong, moth and millet are cheap.
Future Point
ii. When Sun is in Scorpio, Jupiter in Aquarius and Moon in Leo or Jupiter is in Leo
and Moon in Aquarius then summer crops are good and summer grains are cheap.
When Sun is in Taurus, Jupiter in Aquarius and Moon in Leo or Jupiter is in Leo
and Moon in Aquarius, then winter crops are good and cheap.
iii. When Sun is in Scorpio, and in 2nd or 12th house from Sun there is Mercury or
Venus or both then summer crops of grains are sufficient. If along with above
combination Sun is aspected by Jupiter then produce of summer crops is excellent.
If Sun is in Taurus and in 2nd or 12th house from Sun there is Mercury or Venus or
both then winter crops of grains are sufficient. If along with above combination the
Sun is aspected by Jupiter then produce of winter crops is excellent.
iv. If Sun is in Scorpio and in 7th house from it are Jupiter and Moon (i.e. in Taurus)
and other benefic planets are between Mercury and Venus (i.e. Mercury or Venus
is ahead or behind Sun) then produce of summer crops and other crops is good.
If Sun is in Taurus and in 7th house from it are Jupiter and Moon (i.e. in Scorpio)
and other benefic planets are between Mercury and Venus (i.e. Mercury or Venus
is ahead or behind Sun) then produce of winter crops is good.
v. When Sun is in Scorpio and in 11th house from it is Venus or Moon and Mercury is
in 2nd house then produce of summer crops is good. If along with above
combination Jupiter is in 10th house then produce is excellent and cattles give
sufficient milk.
When Sun is in Taurus and in 11th house from it is Venus or Moon and Mercury is
in 2nd house then produce of winter crops is good. If along with above combination
Jupiter is in 10th house then produce is excellent and cattles give sufficient milk.
vi. When Sun is in Scorpio, Jupiter in Aquarius, Moon in Taurus, Saturn and Mars are
in Capricorn then produce of summer crops is good. However there are many
conspiracies in the country hatched by enemies and there is danger of disease.
When Sun is in Taurus, Jupiter in Aquarius, Moon in Taurus and Saturn, Mars are in
Capricorn then produce of winter crops is good but there is danger of disease.
vii. When Sun in Scorpio comes between malefics Mars and Saturn then summer
crops are poor or destroyed. The grains are costly. If malefics (Mars and Saturn)
are in 7th house from Sun i.e. in Taurus, then summer crops are poor or destroyed.
68
viii. When Sun is in Scorpio and a malefic is present in 2nd house from it and Sun
does not receive aspect of a benefic the winter crop is destroyed soon after
sprouting. Therefore crops are obtained by reseeding.
When Sun is in Taurus and a malefic is present in 2nd house from it and Sun is not
aspected by a benefic planet then winter crops are destroyed soon after sprouting.
The crops are obtained by reseeding.
ix. When Sun is in Scorpio and in 7th house from it (i.e. in Taurus) there is one malefic
either Saturn or Mars and the other malefic is in 1st, 4th or 10th house then summer
crops are destroyed. However if these malefics have aspect of a benefic planet
then crops are not destroyed everywhere but only at few plances.
When Sun is in Taurus and in 7th house from it (i.e. in Scorpio) these is one malefic
either Saturn or Mars and the other malefic is in 1st, 4th or 10th house then winter
crops are destroyed.
However if these malefics receive aspect of a benefic then winter crops are not
destroyed every where but only at few places.
x. When Sun is in Scorpio and one malefic out of Saturn and Mars is in 7th house and
another is in 6th house then produce of summer crops is good and its cost comes
down.
When Sun is in Taurus and one malefic out of Saturn and Mars is in 7th house and
another is in 6th house then produce of winter crops is good and its cost is low.
In all combinations mentioned above when produce is good, prices are low and
when output is low, prices are high. These combinations should be analyzed along
with Summer Crop Horoscope and Winter Crop Horoscope.
In the same manner it is useful to prepare horoscope of entry of Sun in all signs (at
the time of ingress) and analyze it.

Example
Now it is possible to learn about changes or high-low levels of prices of different
materials, metals etc on the basis of transits of planets. We can find from ephemeris
situation of various planets in different signs and constellations. The direct or retrograde
motions of planets also have an influence on market prices. In this manner we can see
the written result about grains on the basis of situation of every planet. By the changing
of signs, constellations or motion by planets there will be changes in prices of grains.
In this manner every month planets change their signs, constellation and motion.
Suppose we wish to forecast the prices of grains in August 2002. For this determine
the situation of planets in constellations from ephemeris.
In August, Sun is in Pushya till 3rd August, in Ashlesha till 15th August and in Magha till
31st August.
Similarly, Mars is in Ashlesha till 19th August and later on is in Magha.
Mercury is in Ashlesha till 3rd August, in Magha till 10th August, in Poorvaphalguni till
19th August and is in Uttaraphalguni till 30th August. Jupiter is in Pushya throughout
the month. Venus is in Uttaraphalguni till 11th August, in Hast upto 24th August and in
109
Chitra till month end. Saturn is in Mrigshira in August. The Mercury will rise on 4th
August.
Now on the basis of results available in this book, due to Sun's presence in Pushya,
Ashlesha and Magha , grains are expensive. Grains are expensive when Mars is in
Ashlesha and Magha. Mercury in Ashlesha and Magha gives high prices but in
Poorvaphalguni keeps low prices. The Jupiter of Pushya keeps prices high.
Future Point
The Venus in Uttaraphalguni gives fluctuations in grains but in Hast prices go down.
The Saturn in 3rd pad of Mrigshira gives low prices but in 4th pad prices are high.
Therefore according to ephemeris in this month grains will be expensive. However
arrival of Mercury on 10th August in Poorvaphalguni and entry of Venus on 11th August
in Hast will bring the prices of grains down. The Leo ingress on 17th August on Friday
is 15 muhurti that indicates low prices of grains.
In this manner we can find out high-low prices for every day. Similarly we can learn
about high-low prices of gold, silver, gur, khand, pulses, oil materials and ghee on the
basis of transit in constellations.
