ASSESSMENT

Regarding in their programs about the Sports, for me it has a gender bias because
they are only focusing on the male youth. How about the female, they are only the
viewers? They are only offering basketball, we all know that this sport were only
suited for the males. Maybe, some may say that they are only focusing on the boys.
It was very helpful to us, as a student to be informed about the different
programs they are conducting. During the interview I have noticed that there are
plans conducted that were not implemented well just like the Clean and Green
Program. Why? Because just like what Hon. Daguro said in the interview, this was in
the care of the SK Officials but still the seedlings were not yet planted and at the
moment they are now dying. Now, how can that pursue this kind of program if the
weather is not favorable this reason.

In my opinion regarding the interview, gives us an awareness on how do they

allocate their budgets inside the barangay. Also to know what are their action plans
that will implement with such various activities or programs.

The existing projects are helpful, because it makes the people of the community
being a more responsible and productive leaders and members of the community.
PROJECT PROPOSAL

INTRODUCTION
Numerous incidents have been reported in Television and Social Medias about
drugs users and dealers who are caught in the acts, especially on those squatters area
or what they called “drug dens”.

Most of the drug users in the Philippines are young users. Illegal drugs that are
include marijuana, LSD, opiates, and barbiturates. While there are no accurate
statistics available, it is estimated that as many as 60,000 young people in the
Philippines are with drug addiction. So what are the reasons why these young people
are attracted to us illegal drugs? Maybe you will agree with these points I’ve listed.

First, enjoyment. Despite all the concerns about illegal drug use and the attendant
lifestyle by young people, it is probably still the case that the lives of most young
people are centered on school, home, and employment and that most drug is
restricted to the use of tobacco and alcohol. They may adapt the behavior, fashion
and dialect of a particular subculture including the occasional or experimental use of
illegal drugs without necessary adapting lifestyle. Even so, the evidence of drug use
within youth culture suggest that example of substances is often pleasurable rather
than negative and damaging. Second, environment. Many young people live in
communities which suffer from poverty, with high unemployment, lo quality housing
and where the surrounding infra-structure of local services is fractured and poorly
resourced. In such communities drug supply and often thrive as an alternative
economy often controlled by powerful criminal groups. As well as any use that might
be associated with the stress and boredom of living in such communities, young
people with poor job prospects recognize the financial advantages and status
achievable through the business of small scale supply of drugs.

Third, curiosity. Most young people are naturally curious and want to experiment
with different experiences. For some, drugs are good conversation point, they are
interesting to talk about fascinate everyone. Lastly, personal problems. Some young
people will use drugs to ease the trauma and pain of bad relationships and the
physical and emotional ability about arising from unhappy home lives. Such young
people will often come to the attention on school. Is these problems can be addressed,
then if drugs are involved they can become less of a problem. So how can we prevent
these widespread use of drugs and drug addiction.

For me, it is within ourselves, and that is discipline. Its hard for mr to know that
the lives of my fellow young people are being devastated just because of these
prohibited drugs. If I have the opportunity to renew their lives, I would help them by
conducting seminars about drug addiction. I will encourage them to join some
recreational activities to reverse their life on drugs. I will share to them the Good
News, which is Jesus Christ because I believe that He alone can change our lives,
from evil to good.
