2. Define Angular velocity, vorticity and circulation.
3. Write the velocity potential and stream functions in Cartesian and polar coordinates.
4. What are boundary conditions to be applied over a wall and at infinity?
5. List the elementary flows in aerodynamics.
6. Magnus effect creates the aerodynamic forces over spinning bodies. Justify the statement.
7. Write the kutta conditions for a flow over an airfoil.
8. Define circulation and vortex flows?
9. State kelvins theorem and Kutta – Joukowski theorem.
10. What is D’Alembert Paradox?
11. Define Aerodynamic Center and Center of Pressure.
12. Define doublet.
13. Consider an airfoil in a flow with a free stream velocity of 150 ft/s. The velocity at a
given point on the airfoil is 225 ft/s. Calculate the pressure coefficient at this point.
14. Consider the vortex flow discussed in this section. Imagine that you are standing at a
location 20 feet from the center of the vortex, and you are feeling a 100 mi/h wind. What
is the strength of the vortex?

different value of circulation.

equation of the streamline passing through the point (0, 5).
6. Consider the Non-lifting flow over a circular cylinder. Calculate the locations on the
surface of the cylinder where the surface pressure decreases.
7. Consider the lifting flow over a circular cylinder with a given radius and circulation. If
Vα is doubled, keeping the circulation the same, does the shape of the streamlines
change? Explain.
8. Sketch the flow pattern over an aerofoil for  < kutta;  = kutta and  > kutta; where 
denotes the circualtion over the airfoil.
