Based on my own understanding of consumer culture, it is a systematic pattern

of buying of goods and services concerning to the behavior of an individual. In this way,

each of us have different buying behaviors that are characterized by different factors

such as social status, needs, wants and the buying power. However, at the same time

we all need to provide ourselves the basic necessities of life such as food, water, shelter

and clothing, the difference is we acquired them differently based on the quality and

quantity.

According to my understanding, consumer culture on my sense of self, it is the

buying behavior of an individual which a consumer describe themselves. Example: A

rich man can afford to buy expensive materials such as sports cars, branded clothing,

luxurious accessories and many more expensive items which he can buy anytime he

wants, while a middle class or poor class man needs to save money before buying

those things, and he will think about if buying that product will benefit him at most in the

longer run.
