INTRODUCTION AND METHOD OF TEST
On the basis of soil and site investigation it have been made to
perform INITIAL test for existing pile with help of loading
method as per IS 2911 part (IV) for the site – Construction of 4
Lane ROB in lieu of L-Xing No. 1-C(Span 1x25.08 Mtr Compsite
steel girder +2x2160 Mtr PSC girder) at KM 3.937 om MB-GZB
section and L-Xing No. 418 C(Span 1x47.500 Mtr composite girder)
at KM 1402.940 on MB-SRE section and construction of LHS in lieu
of L-Xing No. 1-C and 418-C near Moaradabad

INITIAL PILE TEST


We have chipped the pile till sound concrete is met and get
finished smooth level of pile head after cut off projecting
reinforcement and placed jack on bearing plate minimum 25 mm
thick of pile head and get tested as per IS 2911 Part IV.
The test load is applied by means of hydraulic jack, with
pressure gauge of load gauge with pump, Reacting against R.S
joint or suitable load frame, obtaining reaction from.
 ken ledge heavier test load as per IS 2911part IV
Test load are usually applied in increment, of approx 20% of
designed load. Settlement is recorded with four dial gauges of
0.01 mm sensitivity. Load and settlement observation are made
from the commencement to completion of each at increment
periodic intervals.

CONCLUSION:

According the test result of 1200 mm dia. 26 m long from Cut off safe
load of pile is given below :-
 1st criteria = 2/3 x test load (upto 18 mm settlement as per
I S Code 2911 part IV 2013 second revision
= 2/3 x 289.666
= 193.11 ton

 IInd criteria = 40 % of Test Load (up to 10% of Pile Dia.)


As per IRC-78 = 506.912 x 40%
= 202.764 ton
Safe functioning load is least of the IST and IInd criteria which is
193.11 ton

With the above remarks for the Designed Load 400 ton is not permitted
for the guarantee of the safe functioning of the recommended design
load.
