My name is (name). I am a MoARIS applicant. For your information MoRA-ATN Research and Innovation
Scholarship (MoARIS) is a new scheme under ‘The 5,000 Doctor Program’ managed by Ministry of
Religious Affair (MoRA) in Indonesia. This program supports the processes of translating creative ideas
and inventions; introducing new methods of production; and the application of goods or services which
are more developed and innovative than previous methods. The innovation process involves deliberate
application of information; specific knowledge and initiative in deriving greater or different values from
available resources; and includes all applicable methods whereby new ideas are generated, discussed
and converted into significant products, policies, and goods and services. This scheme will enable
awardees the opportunity to investigate, explore and innovate our ideas. These opportunities will
enable us to take part in generating solutions to current areas of challenges in Indonesia according to
our chosen key priority. Awardees have the advantage to potentially develop interdisciplinary research
and innovation within our 4 (four) years of study.

Doctoral candidates under this scheme will have the opportunity to share their research progress in
their 2nd and 4th year in a special Innovation Forum to be conducted in Indonesia. The Forum will
inspire young researchers and awardees will be able to engage with Indonesian senior researchers and
relevant industry partners. Supervisors from ATN Universities are encouraged to participate and the
awardees will be specially featured in MoRA magazines and other form of available publications.

